Title: Shelac
Post by: swampthing on March 30, 2011, 04:49:00 PM
Looking at shelac for cedar arrows, will fletch tape or duco stick to it?
And is "Gasket" Laquer and "Clear" Laquer the same thing??
Poly's been cracking on me, Marine Spar varnish takes 20hrs between coats.
I want to upgrade so, that when I can shoot good  :smileystooges: , I'll have arrows that have a longlasting finish.

shellac is a bad choice for arrows, they will get target burn & stick really bad.

Shelac is not good for any exterior use item...I like polycrylic...it the waterbased form of varnish than dries in minutes and offers solid protection to wood arrows...
