Successful season opener today in Montana for wolf and bear today.
Pics to follow.
AWESOME!
Was it a double-header?
Shoot straight, Shinken
I picked up a new Toelke Montana Bows Lynx today. It has a linen phenolic/bubinga/guncala alves riser. 64" longbow limbs with bamboo cores and red canarywood veneers and a set of 58" recurve limbs with bamboo cores and black glass back and belly. It is a real looker and a fantastic shooter.
Dan Toelke is a great guy to deal with and his bows are top notch.
I was comfortable enough with the way it shot and my current arrows that I immediately took it out hunting.
I ended up getting a nice wolf at about 27 yards and then about 10 minutes later bagged a decent bear at about 17 yards.
All in all, a very successful day. I'll try to post pics, if I still have the energy after such a long day.
Here are a couple of pics of the wolf.

and the bear. There wasn't bait in the barrel, as that's not legal in Montana.

Good shootin'!

Shoot straight, Shinken
Thanks Shinken.
All in all, it was a great day.
Ron congratulations on the hunt with your new Lynx. She sure looks like a real beauty. I really love my Lynx also, and yes Dan and his son Jared are great to work with. Enjoy
Thanks Don.
Toelkes are great people and build quality bows.
I owned a Whip a for a few years until the "try something different" bug hit me a year or so ago.
snookered me right in :knothead:
Hey Ron,
That Toelke sure looks sweet, what are the specs? I figured you wouldn't last long without one. I think I need to come visit you to see it in person.
:archer2:
Malachi,
How goes it?
The longbow limbs are 64", 56# @ 28" and
the recurve limbs are 58", 51# @ 28".
Come on over.
I think we may need to have an intervention with Ron...he's a junkie. BUT he always ends up with the nicest bows, hmmm.
Is it true you're running for Governor? Early bear and wolf season, I love it. You got my vote pal.
As I was reading the headline I thought "Didn't Montana have to put the wolf season on ice this year?" I guess not if you have the right mindset! Good shooting!
Thanks guys. They were easy targets, they didn't run.
You know me Hess, just another weak moment.
Very nice looker. I really like the lines of your bow.
Thanks Spurs.
I'll have to put the recurve limbs on and post some pics. They look very nice as well and I have not heard a quieter recurve, at least not of all the ones I've owned.
I fell for it too... :p
Nice bow!
Sorry guys. I just couldn't resist. :biglaugh:
:archer2:

Yep, you had me pulling up the MT. reg to what I'd missed!!!
I didn't think you could hunt wolves in Montana yet...but I have to admit to being suckered in as well...nice bow!
Got me....... like the bow !!!
Beautiful bow sir!
