i special ordered one of these from a hunting store and have been told due to high demand it may take up to 2 monthes to get it...anybuddy else hear anything like this...its been over 1 month now...thanks
Unfortunately this is true. We have 2 in stock but took a deposit on one today. We re-ordered this week and its about a 16 week lead now. Good luck.
the store had a 45# in stock and i shot it,then bought it but when i got to the car something in the glue line caught my attention on one of the limbs...there was a little section that had no glue and i could feel the lams with my fingernail so i took it back and ordered one in 50...i must say that bow shot good but i didnt want to take a chance with it...for 600$...it should be better than that,i hope the next one has no problems...
A Friend of mine ordered one from 3-RIV.Monday they told him due to high demand it my take a spell!Good thing Bear found a bow they can market Just too bad production cant keep up.Best wishes and hope she,s a shooter love that bubinga.
i have heard they are hiring extra people to keep up with orders...my concern now is the quality of work...i hope theyre not rushing to fill orders...i was told the bows are made by hand when i called bear archery...from my conversation with the bear archery rep.i think this high demand caught them off guard...
Jake,
What's the status with the standard Super Kodiak? At Kalamazoo, Bear showed what they called the 2011 model with a black and red dymondwood riser instead of the grey and brown they had been making for several years. Seen any black and red ones?
theres a t/d with red stripe and red tips with the rest being black...
It is true bear has had to hire more people and train them. They are very concerned about putting out a quality bow. Thats why the wait and if they are true to their word it will happen. I have the Green Kodiak one in 40# and 45# both are good example of very good workmanship and are great to shoot.
i do believe this is the case but what had me concerned was the 45# one i bought there but soon returned to the store when i found the flaw in the glue on one limb...a worker at the store thought it was nothing til i showed him the other 5 bows they had,2 bear montanas,2 of the hot new hoyts(fred ecler)and a bear kodiak mag.green...all were perfectly smooth on the glue line...shoot none of my 50yr. old bows has glue missing...but i did shoot that bow at their lanes and it shoots as good as it looks...i can say that,i really hated returning it...
George,
Bear is still offering the brown/gray Super K and in addition a Grayling Green Super K with red riser and green glass.
Blacky
I'm bringing all I have to KY this weekend. Won't have any new bows for 12-16 weeks. We have several custom bows on order.
it kind of makes me think of a 1965 bear kodiak...more than a super kodiak...especially the overlays...
i was very happy at this point in the pic...but after getting in the car and admiring the bow,in just a couple of minutes that all changed when i discovered a 1"section in the glue line on a limb was nothing but bare wood...no glue to be seen at all and i had to wonder if theres an open pocket between the lams that cant be seen...as a collector of vintage bows not much escapes my eye and i wonder how i missed that before i bought it...but they took it back and ordered a new one...

I've shot the new 45# Green Super Kodiak, and it is a nice bow. I found it smooth and fast using 2016 arrows. Reminds me of my original 1969 Super Kodiak, although different colors. The grip always feels so good. Bear has done it well this time. I hope the quality holds up.
i agree very nice shooter,i shot the 45 pound too...very impressed...its not only a good looker...
My Bear T/D from Big Jim is three weeks away. Ordered several weeks ago.
