Title: Winona Camo in Asat
Post by: Ronal Ollis on March 28, 2011, 01:29:00 PM
You use to be able to buy Winona camo in Asat at one time.  It was very popular once.  But I have been trying to find a Winona Asat hat for about 5 years.  I have a regular Winona hat in the grey camo.  If anybody knows of someone or someplace to get one please let me know.  Thanks Ron

Did you try calling ASAT?  Friendly enough people to talk to and always helpful.

Yes I called them about a year ago and they said it was stopped being produced in the late 90,s by a company named Brigade Quatermasters.

There is a company that sells items similar to Winona; but I don't know anything else about them.

I do like my old Winona gear.  I'm wearing one of their Ridge Runner/forage caps in my avatar.

Three Rivers used to sell a floppy ASAT fleece boonie-style hat (I have one of those, too).  You could contact them and see if their supplier is still around.

Spooky when everything you own has been discontinued.

I, too, like the old Winona system and ASAT camo. It would appear the Knit Tree has the permission to reproduce the Fratzke designed Winona material either in the 100% acrylic material he used or a combination of acrylic and merino wool. I still have one of his original camo/blaze orange reversible hats- a most comfortable on, I might add.
