Great Northern Bushbow

Have a look at BamaBows Hunter. That's a nice new one in your price range.
You might also want to take a look at the classifieds as well. Maybe you could pick up a used Hill or something.
-
i just picked up a Mahaska and love it, good bow.
-
Take a look at Lynn Harrelson Archery or Dry Ridge archery. I have both and they are find bows , well made at reasonable prices.

+1 and you get a lot of custom options for the money. Nate's a great guy.
The Hunter model started my longbow addiction.

I will second or 3rd anyone who has mentioned Bama bows.
Nate makes really nice shooting good looking bows.
They are well worth looking into.
God bless,Mudd

Two Tracks or New Wood Archery will fit the bill for deep cored and flater style longbows.

Steve Abbott has 30-50 instock D shaped longbows in your price range.

Classifieds!!!!!!!!!
Just last week an extremely nice Mohawk T/D was posted for $425(Great buy!). Have seen single piece Mohawks recently that were cheaper.
Have seen Montana's down to $175 - $200.
Exude a little patience and the classified's will produce.
-
Gotta D-shaped Thunderbird longbow made by Dave Johnson.Really nice bow but never see any in the classifieds.
-
I believe Mohawks are one of the best values and best bows on the market.
-
There are a few great Hill-style bows out there. I have a HHill.
For more of a flatbow you should check out Apex Predator.
Marty makes a popular bow called the Cumberland. A handsome string follow.
His bows come highly recommended.

I have a Martin "stick",(D-shaped bow) shoots good, very quiet bow, lightest bow I've ever held. It's what I learned to shoot trad with. Been thinking of parting with it, just do not use it anymore since I've bought a few more bows. Other than this one bow I haven't any experience with D-shape bows.

thanks guys - I have a Dry Ridge Longbow and love it ! /just always wanted a flatbow or D-shape to add to my addiction! :)
-
Take a look at the different models from Northern Mist. Might be a bit above $400, but Steve Turey makes a great bow.
-
I bought a Greatree Solo Black longbow from 3Rivers recently and am blown away with the bow! I got it to use as a cheap "beater" for stumping and hunting groundhogs, etc. But it quickly has been upgraded to one of my better bows I ever owned.
My custom recurve is getting dusty since I got this bow. I shoot it really well and can't find a thing wrong with it.
3Rivers has them on sale right now for $144.

Another vote for BamaBows.
-
Dwyer's Defiant is a D shaped flatbow, that's a great shooting bow.I have a 60" that works great in blinds and tight spots you have to sometimes crawl into.Dave and Sue are great folks to deal with.

Big River flatbow or D shaped longbow, John McDonald he does not have a web site. They are great bows.
Yellowstone Bows, Rich also makes a great bow at a very good price. He does have a web site.
-
Mohawks are about $475 and ONE NICE BOW
-
Dwyer Defiant! Love mine!
-
I will agree with a lot of the above posts I would definitely look at the Bamabows!
-
looked ALOT- all suggestions seem to be good ones , heck if I was rich ,I'd have one of each !! :) Decided to go with a Mahaska however, thanks to all, chuck
-
I have 2 Mahaskas, I think think you will like one!
-
Renegade flatbow by Yellostone bows. Shoots hard and fast. Easy drawing and no hand shock. Rich has the best finished bows on the market. Good guy too.
God bless,
José

St-Joe river longbow, d-shaped, shorter working limbs.
-
I've gotta go with Northern Mist also,
For me they are the best shooting D shaped bows I've found.
Steve also makes a great flat bow called the Huron.
Check him out!

Dan Toelke Whip would be my choice. It has just a hint of R/D but not much at all, more like a "D". Whisper quiet and a hard hitter.
