This was totally MY fault.....
I did a bonehead move and left my beloved longbow strung in the van all day(in 85 degree Miami)prior to going on a turkey hunt.
When I saw it I was in shock! The bow didn't blow-up but the tiller on the top limb was about 3 inches, bottom limb about 8!
Upon closer inspection, the bottom limb
de-laminated. It lookes like the veneer(back) seperated from the core, and the first core lamination cracked. The belly core and veneer are intact(at least visibly).
I left a message with the bowyer(who is top notch)and he left me a message that it is probably shot.
Is there any hope? (http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn66/tarponnut/crackedbow004.jpg) (http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn66/tarponnut/crackedbow002.jpg)
Off to the classifieds to find a replacement.....we all have the ability to make mistakes, trust me, I know!!
James-I am so sorry this has happenend to you but let this be a lesson to all of us! Good luck and I'm sure you will make things work out for you in a positive manner.

Thats a heartbraker,good luck.
Sorry to see this happen.
Like coming out to see you're car having been crashed into in the parking lot.
My kohannah elite is still for sale... that would be a good replacement
JDunlap,
I'd truly take the crashed car over this any day(if you saw my van's exterior you'd know what I mean, lol).Lots of sentimental value in this one.
hawk22,
Wish I could afford it. That would be a heck of a replacement!Beautiful bow.
Do you need something to hunt with in a hurry? I can most likely help you out!
WOW,HEART BREAKER....GOOD LUCK,,,
Ouch, that is a bummer. Hope you are able to find a replacement soon.
Thanx for the heads up. I'll be more diligent in the future.
Larry
As my younger daughter often used to tell me, "We all make mistakes." When she said it, it softened the pain!
I've had some offers for loaner bows, I really appreciate it but I have a Kohannah Kurve to use.
I am looking for another longbow, though.
Thanks everyone.
PS the bow I wrecked is the one I'm holding on the cover of Bill Langer's new DVD,ouch!
By the way, it's his best DVD yet!
What longbow, weight/length/maker, etc, are you looking for?
Isn't Whip a bow doc? I think it can be fixed.
