Well Folks, I just came in from the backyard archery range and I have to say: I am impressed! Let me begin by saying I have been shooting 60/65# POC's, Tapered Cedars and Tapered Sitka Spruce out of my 3 Mohawk Longbows.About a week ago I was cruising the Sponsor Classifieds and found Joe Loenzens Add. :readit: He had a dozen beautiful Douglas Fir Surewood Shaft finished arrows in 60/65#'s. If you hit his add on the Classifieds they are the first ones still listed. Joe goes by jlnft here on Trad Gang. Well I wanted to try Surewoods for a while now so I bought them. I have to say I am impressed. :knothead: The only thing I do not like about them is trying to pull them out of my 3-D Deer target! I have to use 2 hands and some muscle. Unreal penetration. :notworthy:
Thanks for the info. I have some Dougfir headed this way? Bought off the classifieds.
Yea I like em also , I would also recomend them, shipping was really fast also.
You won't believe how tuff they are too!! Great shafts
Tracy
Tom,
try spraying some silicone on the bottom half of them and it will make them easier to pull out of the target....course you have to hit the same spot each time to make full use of the silicone otherwise you will need to re-coat them periodically.. :-)
Love to shoot woodies out of my longbows too , Ill check them out for sure thanks bentpole
I looked under surewood and Joe Lorezen and found nothing does he not always have them?
I wanted to see the ad myself but never found it.
Want to hold my hand Bentpole?...lol
God bless,Mudd
PS: Could you pm or e-mail me the link to it?
2 hands and muscle to get 'em out! Tom, you gettin' old on us? And you thought winter bow hunts were kickin' my butt?
Mudd Sponsors Classifieds. The title says sold but the pictures are still there. Under jlnft. Jerry, I can't believe the difference in penetration. The arrows actually go deeper than the Cedars and the Spruce. What gettin' Old 56 ain't old I don't think. I can still lick my weight in Bobcats. LOL! Thanks bentpole
I looked un jinft in the search and found nothing.
Pictures are in The Sponsor's Classifieds Topic starter is jlnft. The topic says SOLD but the pictures are still there. First dozen= 2 yellow hens and a yellow barred cock feather.
I saw those Tom! Beauties for sure!!
Thanks for holding my hand and leading me over there.
I sent Joe a pm letting him know how cool I thought his arrows are.
I appreciate you more than I can express.
Thank you!
God bless,Mudd
No Problem Brother Roy! :archer: :archer2:
I have two dozen arrows from Joe he makes incredible arrows at a great price. I don't know how he feels about it but I consider him my arrow guy. And his arrows are sooo pretty.
I was just looking for the raw shafts do you know who handles them?
Tom
Yes Tom Surewood Shafts.Go to surewoodshafts.com
Braveheart Archery also carries them, Ive bought a couple of dozen from them lately. Great service
I've been shooting 11/32" Surewoods that I taper the last 12" down to 5/16" nock. They fly nice and straight and recover so fast I can't spot the paradox wobble.
I have been shooting Joe's arrows for about 4 years. He is a great guy and his arrows are just awesome, not just form a decorative point of view, they are straight as anything and I'm convinced his arrows are the reason I tend to win gold at 3D events here in the UK.
Thank you all for the nice compliments, but I think it's the operator that puts the arrow where it belongs! I know I keep making myself arrows too and I think they have some "operator error" built into them! At least that's my story!!
Thanks Again,
Joe
I got some of Joes arrows a few years back on the St Judes auction. They were tapered fir 70/75 ... very good look'n and flew great. Shot a nice hog on my St Judes hog hunt at Marty's in Florida with one tipped with a Stos BH.
Thanks for the information.
I bought a set of 6 "turkey arrows" from Joe. I'm still not sure if I'm gonna use them this year or not. They are WAY too pretty to go losing one because of a silly thunderchicken! I was really glad to find Joe and his fine arrows and beyond reasonable prices for such quality. Thanks Joe.
Operator Error!!?? :scared:
Another satisfied customer here, great arrows Joe!
I also bought some arrows form Joe and they are great. Mine are sitka spruce and are some of the best arrows out there. Thanks!!!
The easiest arrow removal may be to hold the arrow and remove the 3D target. LOL!
