Title: broadhead adapters
Post by: mec lineman on March 25, 2011, 09:31:00 PM
I know there is a few grains difference between long and short adapters.Tuning aside is it any advantage to using long or short adapters when mounting broadheads correctly?Plan on try STOS heads. THANKS CRAIG

I use the short adapters without hesitation, but then I like a broadhead that uses a removable bleeder blade benefits from it.

When using a non bleeder type head I generally opt for filling the ferrule with adapter and chose the long one.

I've never seen a strength issue with either one.
Guess my point is flip a coin, they'll both do the job.

Since I use 2 blade broadheads without bleeder blades, I prefer the long broadhead adapters. For me, they're easy to align so the broadhead spins true than with short adapters.

The long broadhead adapters come in two flavors for me. The Zwickey in 36 grains and the Magnus in 42 grains.

I agree with Charlie, if they are line up correct ....doesn't really matter. the end weight determines which I use.
