i'm looking for some different ideas for carrying a bow on my bike. specifically a recurve. i've seen some pics of guys carrying longbows in tubes and what not on the back end of the bike. good idea but i don't think it will work on my bow.
any ideas??

I have a rifle rack " two padded forks" and just wrap my bow to the handle with a bungee. Works good.

What Windtalker said. Pad it though to get it to hold well.

The forked rifle rack works great for me. You can pick them up at Cabelas or a store like that... in the ATV section.

I used to fit my 3-piece Hoyt hunt master and a hand full of arrows into a Camelbak mule when I biked to the range - (I just removed the fluid pouch thingy) - it worked pretty well for a back quiver too.
I've done a lot of Mtn Biking and I have never had good luck mounting anything (that I planned to remove later that day) directly to the bike.
However, if you must go that rout there is a rack that mounts to the seat post and you can get several different and very nice (read expensive) nylon bags made to fit there ...
Also in California they make a kit to mount surfboards on bikes, (think side car) if you cant take your rig apart :p

This has been discussed in more than a couple threads.
Take a look at this one:

I particularly like this rig:

If you do a search on TradGang for "bike rack" you'll probably get more ideas.

Thanks fellas!
Grey, I've done a search but not for "bike rack" in particular. I'll give that a shot. Thanks again.
