Title: grizzly heads
Post by: flyfish1 on March 22, 2011, 09:44:00 AM
I hope im not repeating something already discussed. Help me with the history of these heads as far as production. were the heads originally produced in right bevel only, and when the whole single bevel craze came about did they too offer left, and most importantly is this when they went to 25 degree bevel. Are all left bevel heads recent production in the 25 degree?

Yes, Yes and Yes. Grizzley line first came in right bevel only. The angle was not 25 degree and they were not easly sharpened. Having said that they were still a great head. Now they come in left and right bevel if you can find them. They come in two el grande sizes as well. Also the bevel is better but still needs work. Some people still have trouble sharpening single bevel heads but once you get the hang of it no problems (lots of how to sharpen griz on this site). Search this site there is more information on grizzly heads and broadheads in general then you can easly digest. Read the Ashby reports on broadheads on this site and you will see where the "single bevel craze" comes from. It's a great head that has been improved on mostly because of Ashby's study, but a lot of broadhead makers changed or added single bevel since his study.
