Just wanted to say thanks to Allen DeVore for allowing me to purchase back my Shrew Classic Hunter that I had to sell a few years back.Times were tough one winter and I had to sell my new Shrew to help pay for some furnace repairs.Well things are better and I got on the list for a new Shrew.Allen saw my post and contacted me and offered to sell my shrew back to me.Well I recieved it last Friday and have shot many arrows through it allready.Allen is one of the good guys.
Thanks again,
David Janssen
That's great.
Way to go guys. Two good men doing the right thing! Thanks for sharing that.
Allan is a good guy, who likes Shrews! How about some specs or pics (it is like getting a new bow)?
Allan us awesome! The GURU of Shrews!
Dont give him that much credit, he just wanted to upgrade :readit:
That's a good story makes you feel good inside, theres a few people still looking out!
Yep Allan is a fine fellow and he is the
~Shrew Master~
Allan has another Shrew or 10 to fall back on. ;)
Allan is a good guy, that's for sure. Chad
Allan is top notch.
He's a pretty good guy indeed. Hopefully he's all healed up so he can give them trouble in Africa.
I feel a little embarrassed with this very kind but undeserved praise. I am glad to have my friends here at TradGang. It was very gratifying to me to be able to send David's bow back home to him. I love my Shrews, but I knew I was just a foster parent of that bow, and she needed her real daddy. I just hope everyone else I have bought a Shrew (or some other bow) from doesn't want me to return it (like Cody who sold me a Lil' Favorite)! As Chad, Mark, Cody and Barry have indicated, it's not like I don't have a few other Shrews around. In fact, one of the two I have had on order for a year and a half will be coming my way in a couple of weeks -- a beautiful Koa Classic Hunter that Gregg has already glued up the riser for.
David Knipes - I am feeling pretty good after knee surgery in December to take out some cartilage I tore in the Yukon during September. I am headed to Australia to hunt Asiatic buffalo with fellow TradGanger Andy Ivy in June. The bow I will be using is my Super Shrew "Buffalo Bow" which is a 60" 68#@29.5" Samurai model with solid phenolic riser, BowBolt, and actionboo limb cores. I will be shooting AD Trad arrows with Ashby broadheads that are weighted up to over 900 grains. I think it will be a good combination. Gregg Coffey built the bow for me to take to Africa to hunt cape buffalo. I didn't get a shot at a cape buff that trip, but I will be going back for it, probably in 2012, and I have great confidence I will get an Asiatic buffalo this June. The bow shoots incredibly well -- but that is to be expected -- it's a Shrew! When I was shooting practice shots at elephant dung and hitting individual balls at 40 yards, my trackers wanted to know where the sights were and had a hard time understanding how anyone could hit a target at that distance without aiming. I guess they were too used to compound bows and rifles.
DJ, I'm glad you are enjoying the bow. That really makes me feel good. You are a very thoughtful person.
Allan
Allan is one of the good guys!!! I hear he has a weakness for Brackenbury's too!!! :biglaugh:
Bill
Allan is a fine gentlemen. Good luck in Australia, be safe. tom
I echo the words that all have said about Allan. I have yet to meet a finer individual in the traditional archery community. My only hope is that one day we share camp together in Texas or a round of Golf at mutual gathering place.
Allan, wishing you and Andy the best of luck on your trip!!
Kevin
What did you expect he's an Okie.
Good stuff! Best of luck on the Buffalo hunt Allen.
A great guy indeed!
