Okay, I have another spine question. I am shooting an Elburg longbow 61#@27 1/2", with a 12 strand fast flight string. The arrows I am shooting are spruce, 65-70 spine, 28 3/4 BOP, with 145 grain points. My draw is 27 1/2". My arrows are kicking when I shoot. All of my shafts are fletched at this time so I don't have one to bare shaft. Do I need to try 125 grain points?
20 gns may not show up with fletched shafts try lighter. I have even shot with no point to confirm my thinking.
A big broadhead will show you what is going on as well as a bare shaft.

My guess would be that your arrows are weak.I think you need about 10lbs more spine.
If your LB is not cut to center, then your over spined. Drop down to 55-60 or 60-65.
I think you're underspined, I suggest stripping the feathers off an arrow to find out for sure.
Okay I am gonna strip some feathers off and find out for sure. How much difference would there be if I changed back to a 16 strand fast flight string?
All else equal, it will slow things down a bit and reduce your spine requirements. You can also drop point weight if you're still underspined.
