I was please to see brothers Wensel at the Ohio Deer an Turkey Expo in Columbus.
I stopped and talked to Barry for a while.
This was the first time I met him and I was like a giddy school girl metting Justin Bieber.
Barry was as nice and as funny as I would have expected.
Ive always wanted to meet him as he's impressed the heck out of me with his shooting skills on moving targets.
I picked up a copy of the EE Primal Dreams II
Can wait to watch it.
God bless him and I hope his arm heals quickly.
He would have given it to you for free if you had brought him a doughnut pillow. :D
Killdeer (I'd like to meet him too!)
THE real deal
He didn't ask you to pull out any cactus spines did he? Any mention of duct tape? :D
Talked to the Brothers and Mike Mitten yesterday at the expo. They are the real deal.Barry told me a small detail about his "pig attack" and a story about Gene when they were at a sport show in Pa. many years ago.Great stuff!!Looking forward to talking to them again at Denton Hill in July.
I missed them at the show yesterday, wish I would have seen them. Regardless, it was a great show...some real monsters on the wall from all over Ohio.
Barry is one great dude.
I met them back in the early 90's and they where great. Two of my favorite characters in the archery world
Anyone ever hear the story of the twins throwing a black bear carcass off of a bridge that was under construction? I laughed my butt off when they told that one at a bowhunters rendezvous here in Michigan back in the early 90's.
TRUE LEGEND,,,
THE REAL DEAL...
Uncle B is great and his younger Brother isn't a bad egg either !!
Barry and Gene are both SPECIAL people.

Come on Steve, I had finally gotten that mental image out of my mind :D
He da man.....
"Wensel"?? Are you sure that's not "WEASEL" misspelled???
Just saw this as I've not been on TG for awhile because of our schedule. Thanks to all for the kind words. I really enjoyed the Ohio gig although I was covering up some discomfort. I had a lot of hands to shake as a temporary lefty. I think Mike and Gene got sick of hearing me having to tell the story of my pig fight and resulting bum arm. It's not healing as quickly as I was hoping for (age??), although today was the best day since it happened almost two weeks ago. We'll be at the IL Deer Classic in Peoria this weekend; New York Bowhunters Assn. banquet in Syracuse the next week and the P&Y 50th Anniv. gathering in Rochester, MN the next. If anyone's in the neighborhood stop by and hear "the rest of the story". But no macho handshakes please. Ha. Thanks. BW
If he tries to tell you that he can't shake hands but that you should just pull his finger instead,
DON'T DO IT!
Barry and Gene or Gene and Barry are the real deal. Great hunters and even finer people!!
BW = Justin Bieber ,heheheheheheheheheheLMFAO>>>>>>>>>>
It was great to meet Barry, Gene and Mike Mitten at the IL Deer Classic! I could have talked for hours to all of them but I had a airgun range to run. I just wished I could have gotten back down to get Gene's and Mike's books. I got Barry's new book and I am really enjoying it(now I will have to order the rest of them).
They are all down to earth guys. If you ever have the chance to meet them you should!
