Thats kind of a vague question friend. But top quality comes at top price. Since you are in Canada you might check out Cari-bow and Chek-Mate.

Way too many to recommend just one maker. Recommend you shoot as many different makes as possible and decide what is best for you.

Checkmate makes a heck of a hybrid also.  The Beaver Creek.  It's not on his website last I checked, but it's the smoothest drawing bow I ever tried.

As mentioned, shoot as many as you can until one really strikes you. There are too many out there and each has their proponents so all you will get is opinions.

I would suggest that you attend a trad event where many bow makers will be present. It has been my finding that bowyers will willingly allow you to shoot their wares. Shoot as many as you can. Find what suits YOU. See what YOU shoot best. Then make your decision.

I shot as many "new" bows as I could. And the one that worked best for me was Blacktail bows made by Norm Johnson.

If Norm isn't number 1, he's certainly in the top 1.

My advice would be to go to a traditional archery expo or go to at least one or two large traditional archery shoots with bow dealers and makers.  Try the bows yourself.  We are all different.  If there was a truly a best bow out there then there would be only one make of bow.  You have to please you.
The advice here might or might not narrow down your choices.  But my advice is do not buy a bow before you shoot it, unless you either like to collect bows or are willing to gamble say $750.00 to a $1,000.00.

Shoot different recurve bows before you decide. Some great bows just shoot and feel different than others so they'll shoot better for you than others. For me fuller grips shoot better like Rose Oak, Palmer and Predator. It would suck to invest the money and wait for it to show up then not like the way it shot or felt.
