I know how to make Flemish strings so is there any particular method for padding the loops of Fast Flight? I assume you would use B50 for the padding.
when I make Flemish string I don't pad the loops, and I never was taught to either. you do for endless loop strings if that helps.
Steven. I don't pad the loops on B50 Flemish strings either. The consenus of opinion I hear out there is that if you are going to use FF strings on wood bows you must make the tips strong enough to withstand FF as well as pad the loops.
I do use b50 for the padding of fast flight skinny or skinnier strings. What I do is add 2 8"-10" or so strands of B50 to each bundle end and wax them in. That is for 3 bundle strings. For two bundle I would probably go a total of 6, so 3 per bundle if you are making 2 bundle flemish strings.
hope that helps
for prettier strings, you can kind of stagger the lengths so there is a smoother transition
Matt. Thanks for the info. Makes sense to me.

That's exactly how I do mine. I usually make 8 strand FF strings and pad the loops with 6 individual strands of Dacron (3 of each color), and just wax them in with the bundles of your string and twist it up. May take you one or two to get used to it, but it's not that hard and should come pretty easily. Good luck!
