Top feather is Traditonal Shape
Bottom feather is Parabolic Shape
Imagine how much destruction there would be if a road train crashed into a large building complex compared to a Ferrari doing the same thing, each travelling at its top speed. The heavier, slower one just keeps on going.
What happened? I was typing a response to one thread, and my reply came up in a totally different thread when I hit the button!
Ben I dont what happen but when i made this thread it was a different tread. now its back to normal. But i think you answered to the other thread question.
Schafer
Hmmmm
Its a thread matrix!!!!!!!!!!!!
TRAD SHAPE WOULD LOOK GOOD
I love the trad shape. Been shooting it for 23 years.
I voted for the trad shape, but I prefer shield cut myself.

Top one. Are you all saying the top is not a shield cut? If so, what is the difference?
The back end of a shield cut has a curve in it like a half moon slice out of the very back end. The trad cut goes straight on the back at a slight angle backwards, did that make any sense?
Schafer - I get all my arrow wraps from Onestringer, very good quality and the best price around anywhere.
Yep ... thanks. Guessing the trad cut is a little quieter than the shield? But not as quiet as the parabolic?

The tradiotnal shape it called indian shape in this photo
I beleave that the parabolic shape was desinged to be as quiet as possible.

Another vote for the parabolic shape.
I haven't noticed any noise from shield cut or parabolic and I've used both, I guess it's just a personal preferrence for me?
I think the banana cut is supposed to be the quietest of them all from what I've read.
If I shoot primitive self bow, wood arrows I fletch with the trad shape but with the arrows you have there I would use the parabolic.
those arrows are a little contemporary...go with the parabolics...
Shield or Indian on a longbow/selfbow
Parabolic on a recurve...
I picked the traditional. If those were mine, I would go with 3 white fletching.
I also picked the trad ones......but due to a kindness of a fellow trad shooter who sent me some samples, I gotta say the 3R-Swift is going on a dozen tonkins here soon.
FOR ME, it's more about the asthetics than performance.....since all of em shoot better than I do.
Maybe "new" maybe "different"..but something about them leaped out at me when I saw them in a photo on an arrow.
NEAT looking shafts there bud!
shield cut.
I like parabolics. They dont seem to hurt quite so bad when they hit my knuckle.
John
Even though the vote went for the traditional shape feathers. im going to go with parabolic for several reasons. one being they will be nice and quiet.
Thanks Schafer
I use trad cut but they do make a little more noise.
I voted trad cut for those arrows. But for me, I like the parabolics.
