Just wondering about the jewel stick advertised in 3Rivers spring flyer I just recieved and if any of you all use one?
Good, Bad, advice??
I'm kinda looking for something to put that finishing hone on my Snuffers and something small enough to carry with me in my box of "possibles" for when I'm hunting away from home to touch up a broadhead when I need to.
I've done quite well with just a small file so far and wondering if the jewel stick would benefit me any further than what I'm doing at the moment. Or if I'd just be wasting my money?
Been using a version of the Jewel stick for over ten years on my 3 blades...
I use one that is very much like the one 3Rivers sells. I like it. It is compact and I keep it in my fanny pack while I am hunting. With a little patience and a light hand, it will put a very sharp edge on any three blade head.
It is a good buy.

I've been using a jewel stick followed by a butchers steel for all 3 blades for the last 7-8 yrs or so.
I think I may pick one up?
Thanks for the responses guys.
Awesome Tool. I need to get another one.
I have two or three stashed around, they work great and I finnish on a ceramic stick for a finer edge.
They are a super tool. I carry one in my pack to sharpen my knives.
Good thing to have in your pack for sure.
i carry one in pack also. i use it more on my knives i like a file edge on my broadheads i wish someone made a small file
I am pretty impressed by the Jewel stick. I have carried the 2 sided flip stick for about 8 or 9 years in my hunting pack.
Its the perfect addition to my sharpening process. I use it to put the finishing touches on my broadheads, two blades and three blades. i carry the small flip stick in my day pack or quiver and i use the large 12 inch by 3/4 three sided stick for camp or home.
I have become so impressed by the Three sided sticks, know as the 1-2-3 's, that i am going to pic up the line as distributor in the next 6 weeks.
In a recent test on a knife I carry with 134 CM steel, three passes on each of the sides: coarse, medium and fine and the knife was shavin sharp.
I have spent quite a bit of money in the last year searching for the "best" sharpening tools and techniques and the Jewel Sticks are an excellent addition.
Jack,
I have been dilly dallying about buying the 1-2-3. When you know pricing, please pm me so I can buy from one of "us"
Not to derail this thread, but since the sharpening experts are probably looking at this...
I've been looking at Diamond stones lately. The ones with all diamond on the surface rather than the ones with all the little plastic colored "holes" are better, yes?
Jack
I would be interested in buying one also.
Two sponsors here already sell them if you are ready to purchase. Eclipse Broadheads and Three Rivers.
JEWEL STIC IS A GO TO,,NICE LITTLE PIECE OF EQUIPMENT...
Just got one from 3Rivers on Tuesday!

Would jewel stick also work well on concave head like Simmons sharks/interceptor? 3 Rivers catalog says "especially effective" with Woodsman.
Yep Semo, I'm looking at mine right now. :D

Many thanks Joe! Sorry if off-topic for you Semo.
Been using the 3 sided JewelStik for at least 10 years now on all my Snuffers.
Don't worry about it Will, there is no off topic discussion in any of my posts. Anything that needs to be asked is quite alright with me.
Thanks for all the opinions and advice guys, I think I'll get one and try it out on my Snuffers. If I don't like it, I'm sure I could sell it or trade it off easy enough as evidence by these posts. I haven't read one bad word against it so far.
great prouduct I have the 10 inch for home and the small one that packs into handle for travel
Never used one, but after all that I have read here, will get one.
won't one too
It's my go to file in the field for touch ups.
Quite pleased with the Jewel Stick 1-2-3.
They are the bomb for sure. I raise the burr on my STOS with the file and take it off with the jewel stick....and guess what Im left with!? I never tried stropping after tho I would like to....not so sure how to correctly....but after the jewel stick I can make a bald spot on my hairy legs like a Gillette Fusion, in about 2 or 3 swipes.

I use a file to get my broadheads sharp, then use the jewelstik to get them very sharp. Well worth the money.
