Post by: snag on March 15, 2011, 12:03:00 PM
I answered the phone yesterday and heard "You're up!" Those are some the best words you can hear when you have a bow on order!

Snag about the only words that would challenge those for being "The Best" are like those I got from Craig at HH Archery which read "Your Halfbreed was shipped today!"

Woot! Woot!

Both statements are pretty darn cool!!!(IMHO)

God bless,Mudd

MJB, I've got a dozen already in the works that will hopefully suit the wood combo for this bow. Different way to make arrows and the resulting look is different.  You read my mind.

I know the feeling for sure.  It rocks.  We just picked up a new bow for Tricia, I just finished making a new bow for me with BMA, and I have another one coming in June from Wes Wallace.  Gotta love that new bow feeling!

Good to hear your waiting will soon be over Snag.

When I had my Brack Quest on order I lived on the delivery info page on the Brackenbury website... watching my name go up the list made for good times.

Kawika, for me that would be worse than not knowing! I guess out of sight, out of mind sort of thing. Interesting idea though.

Clay, are you going to be hunting with the Wallace bow this year? Or do you have to get to know it and see first?

Almost as good as the message that it made weight.  I got that one last week.  It will probably take longer to ship it than Sixby has left to finish.

Congrats on the incoming bow.  Are you getting a take down or one piece?  I've got a beautiful TD from Norm, kind of thinking about a one piece...

I wanted another TD. I like the feel of the TD's and I can get other limbs for them if I want to. Plus I prefer the quiver options for a TD better.

Snag,

I will hunt with one Wallace Royal or another.  I have a pair of 68 inch - 50lb @ 28 inches, I  ordered a new 68 inch - 40lb @ 28 inch royal.  The new bow will have dirty bamboo cores, and guitar grade curly myrtlewood veneers and riser.  I visited Wes's shop and picked out the woods myself. If I am hunting with the 40 lb bow, it will be 45 at my draw length.  I have my arrow set up so I can drop the head weight and shoot the same shafts.  With the head weight adjustment I can set up to hit the same point of impact at 25 yards with the lighter bow.

I have been fighting a torn up shoulder and will use the lighter bows until I heal up.  I figure I will be back to my heavier bows for hunting this year.

I will be shooting a 66 inch - 40lb @ 28 inch mild R/D longbow bow at the Western States Rondevous.  BMA and I worked up the bow in his shop a few weeks ago.  The handle is a perfect match for my Royals.  I like to keep everything the same so I don't have to adjust my shooting from bow to bow.

The new bow we made has action wood limb cores, Tennessee Red Cedar veneer on the face, curly maple veneer on the back, with a blood wood and curly maple riser, with maple and black glass accent stripe.

I plan to put up a post on the bow once we get some sunny weather to get some good photos of it.
