Took my Holm Made Osprey and some judo tipped arrows for an afternoon of stumpin' Minnesota style. Snow is still between knee and thigh deep in the woods but it makes for a good aerobic workout.
A trophy stump which took two arrows to anchor:

A fine Birch at 20 yards...aim small for the little black spot 2/3 the way up:

An efficient bow and FOC arrows lead to a near pass through on this tough old bugger:

And arrow twenty feet beyond:

62" Holm Made Osprey, 41.5 @ 28" drawn to 31" so around 49#. Carbon Express Maxima 250 33" to BOP with 135gr. Judo mounted on a 125gr. steel adapter for a total arrow weight of 540 gr. This makes for a fast and quiet shooting combination.
Chad sure builds a fine bow, nice pics Jay.
looks fun :clapper: 5
Way to do work! Looks fun.
It is fun! I stump three or more days most weeks during the Winter and early Spring. Great way to get some exercise and keep my shooting sharp.
I am looking forward to getting my Osprey. Came home today, and found out I missed the mailman. All he left me was a parcel pickup notice for my Osprey. :(
The next two days will be long ones, particularly Monday at work. The anticipation is killing me.
Beautiful bow but, I gotta say, some hot coffee and a warm fire would round out a day like that. :D
Looks like a good time Jay and
very nice looking bow.
Holm Made is on my short list!!
Nice shootin !
I have had an Osprey for about 2 1/2 years and it is a great bow. I consider it to be the best bow made for the price. Fast, smooth and accurate.

Cool stuff. Those are some good shots at the dots on the stumps. Whats all that white stuff?
Like I said the snow was deep:

But deer seem to be traveling through the country:

I hope to get acquainted with those responsible for these rubs come next September:

Until then, stumps will have to do:

Looks like alot of fun, nice shottin.
Much obliged for the nice snow woods pix. Cutoffs here in Texas already. Bow's a beaut! Trophy stumps don't get old being stupid.
Looking good Jay. one of the only other bows I shoot as well as my Big River's. ;)
Got my Osprey at Denton Hill last summer, 44# @28". Love the bow.

Yep...I've had several Big RIver hybrids but none shorter than 64" to compare to this Osprey. The Osprey is a good shooting bow as are the Big Rivers. It really comes down to personal preference and frankly I could shoot either one happily for the rest of my life if I had to.
You obviously have more trophy stumps than we do here. But ours are tougher---I have to use a 725 grain arrow :) and I still bent a Judo glue on on my last outing.
Glad you are having a good time, sir.
Well Jay, the way this winter is going you will be able to stump shoot in the snow for 3 more months! Nice shooting. Chad
Jay what part of MN are you at?
Think Chad sent all his snow from Brainard down here Fri. with that north wind!!
Can't wait till spring. Snow in the woods here is 32"DEEP.
Braver than I. Almost lost enough snow to start. Another week and the woods should be open enough. thanks for sharing.
good shooting!

I'm in the Lino Lakes/Columbus Township area just off the SE corner of Carlos Avery WMA.
NICE BOW,COOL PICS...ENJOY...
Still waiting to go out and take part in my first stump shooting experience. Will head out after I get back from SD I think!
Nice shooting Jay way to show how MN rolls!
Great bows, those Ospreys! I have a 43# one I really enjoy!
Shot stumps for another four hours this afternoon. THe wind was down and temps were in the high 30's. It was downright balmy.
Glad to see that you like the bow Jay, And that grip I put on it ,Is it working for you ? Chad made that suggestion to me ,And it seems rather dry or wet they grip the same ,I've got one of my other osprey .
But I hope chad's wrong about the 3 months stuff
Winter I mean ! I'm ready for spring
