Title: Please save me from myself
Post by: Enumclawarcher on March 09, 2011, 09:17:00 PM
The first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem. Ok I have a problem, I am new to traditional archery I recently received my first long bow a Mohawk 64" 40# @ 26 " Cocobolo riser bamboo limbs  with red elm veneers. What a awesome bow. Now the problem I have a Dywer on order and am already looking at a third. Do I need help or is this normal..

It's a "sick"ening problem that usually gets worse before getting better - just be reasonable. And as I remember someone telling me ...the most important things in life, are not things.
Take care friend.

Before the fire took 'em, I had 20 some bows....I now only have 6 or 8.....so far, anyway..friend of mine is a tatoo artist and sells a tee shirt that says 'Welcome to your new addiction', it also applies here.

Are you married? If so she will definitely let you know if your new love becomes a Problem!

But from what I've heard so far you seem perfectly Normal.

Normal.  I would say you are just getting started. Enjoy the journey as you only have "one" tank of gas in this life.

You may have acute Rowan's-syndrome... it's too early to tell yet... we'll most likely be able to tell after the first hundred bow purchases or so.

Good luck to you.

There always seems to be at least one that keeps my interest peaked and my rat hole stash in a continuous rebuilding mode.

Enjoy it while you can because if you ever get laid off your addiction problem will be solved for you. It's better than a 12 step program.   :readit:

God forbid that should ever happen to you.

For me 3 times in 4 years snapped me back to reality.

I would say you are as normal as the rest of us. I have one more wheelie to sell so I can buy my third stick bow. Isn't the simple life grand?

Its normal.  I have only shot traditional for over a year and have owned more trad bows in that time than 8 years of compound shooting!  I need a block from the classifieds here!
