Folks, I am new to Trad Gang and LOVE the site, have learned a lot from some very informed people. I ordered a Leon Stewart Slammer Special 62in & 45#, PA.Yew, on back,Bamboo in the middle and Osage on the belly. I ordered it in July at ETAR. Drove 5 hours to pick it up cuz I wanted to spend some time with Leon, and it was well worth it. Leon is a country gentleman and gave me a few tips that will improve my shooting. I also had a friend(MonkeyBall) who picked up his new Stewart bow a few weeks earlier, meet me there just to share the day my big day. It has been almost two weeks since I have had the bow and I am still excited, my wife is actually jealous of my new love. I guess there is not a real point here except I needed to yell to the trad world how happy I am, a 64 yrs old who feels like a 24 yrs old. Thanx Leon, and Monkeyball- who recommended the Slammer. :bigsmyl:
Feels good dont it.
Welcome to the :campfire:
Good luck with it brother, I know exactly how you feel.
Exciting stuff alright! How about some photos? Best of luck.

Frank: Glad that you got a new Slammer, sounds like a great looking bow. They sure will shoot, hope you enjoy.
I'm waiting for a Bamabow and I know exactly how you feel. Tulsa is only four hours away and that sure don't seem too far if I can get my hands on it sooner. Good luck with your new bow and I totally understand about shouting to the world. Tradgang has filled in a void for me. I don't know anyone around here yet that wants to talk trad.
Congrats on the new bow!
Enjoy... great bow...
Frank-I'm very glad for you and know exactly how you feel! It's a great feeling to be involved in traditional archery because it will help you enjoy your life more and live longer! Good for you!! Congrats!

Congratulations to you and isn't it great that we can still get excited about these kind of things! A new bow whether brand new, or just new to you is a great thing. Thank your wife many times over for supporting you and do something extra special for her so she know she's still number one! Happy sliver shooting and post some pictures of that new stick!
A big welcome aboard to you Frank. Your bow is a beauty and having Yew that was growing in Penna.is really a cool thing.
Leon is an awesome guy and his bows look and shoot with the finest out there.Craftsmanship beyond compare. Check them out!
Good Shooting,
Craig

Congratulations thanks for sharing, us lefties need to stick together. Leon is a lefty as well!!! have fun at this great sport we have, Jerry.
Folks, This site blows me away, to have messages from all over the country, Mt. ID. TX. PA. ... all so understandable about the new bow.. A special shoutout to GOBBLEGRUNTER who offered and helped by posting the pictures. This is someone I have never met and now he is considered a friend. We need a tech. class on how to use this site effectively.
The pictures do not do justice to the work Leon Stewart does.. but I did my best. Thanx everyone..there is a bond with Trad Gang Members.
Congrats on the new bow.
Congrats on the new bow.
where's the centerfold pic?
welcome Frank nice bow good luck with it!!
Left handed bows are always prettier. :D
Congrats on the new bow.
will be my term in 2 to 3 months.
Just ordered a Black Widow PLX-Osage this morning...Can't wait..Ha..Ha..
Guys, I see a lot of chatter out there bout bein left handed, I am right handed but that eye is bad due to a fall as a kid, so switched after 27 yrs of not getting a buck, switched to left handed and got a 3 bucks in 4 yrs.... however it has been a looooong time since I had that run, and I'm in a slump. However if you carry the right stick in the woods you really don't need to kill much to enjoy the feelin.
Here are a couple more pics of Frank's bow...

I'm right-handed as well...but shoot lefty because of eye-dominance.
Beautiful Pacific Yew! Delicious...
Frank,
Welcome!!
Right or left you got a pretty bow!
MiTfine bow there for sure!
Tony I believe that yew wood is from PA.Leon has a way of find nice wood. Hell he has veneer wood in the rafters of his little shop that he does even know about.
Congrats on your new bow. It is a mighty nice looking one!
When the UPS man brings a new bow to my house I save him the 40-yard walk to the front porch! My nose is getting flat looking out the front window down the drive for Big Brown Trucks!
I'm RH but Left eye dominant also, I'v shot lefty since 1996. What's cool about being a lefty is the grain of the riser wood on LH bows is so much more animated! (made you look?)
Yes.. Leon got the PA. Yew wood just down the road from his shop..The pinholes and grain just doesn't come through on the film.
Thanx again GOBBLEGRUNTER for posting the pics.
What the heck is a GOBBLEGRUNTER???
Congrats.

No problem at all. It's been good meetin' a new friend. Besides, it's too nice a bow to not show-off!

Gobblegrunter..makes sense now! And its a good one. I wish I put more thought into my handle (fmscan) just doesn't say anything. You are very good with the tech stuff on this site.
Thanks fmscan, but I'm actually a big dummy when it comes to techy stuff...my wife took 5mins to peruse the site in order to figure out all the techy stuff, then had to take another 45mins to drill it all into my thick skull! :smileystooges: :bigsmyl:
Awesome, Oh what a fellin, How bout some pics..
