Just wondering what the gang thought the quietest material was for building strings.
I'm sure there are going to be many different answers to this question. My two cents is that, of all the HMPE fibers, there isn't a "quietest". Some bows, some setups, and some shooters seem to "prefer" different ones, and all of the current fibers are considered the quietest to someone out there.
To add to that mix, often times a shooter tries a new material in a string made by someone else than the string they are comparing to-I'm persuaded that the construction of the string has as much (maybe more) to do with it as the material does.
IMO, dyna (97 and 10), 8125, Astro, Excel, 452, etc. are all excellent materials that can be very quiet.
I agree. It's all in the setup. Type of bow, bow weight, arrow weight, shooting style, etc...
I'm using b55 flemish twist. Some are quiet without silencers, some need silencers. I shoot a straigh D longbow, a mild RD longbow, and a Bear recurve. The Bear is the loudest even with silencers. The mild RD is the quietest without silencers but I still use them to quieten it even more.
Some bows like different materials,I have bows quieter with 450+,some are quieter with D97 and some with 8125.You will get many different opinions on this subject.Bow design has alot to do with noise,it would be hard to say with one is thge quietest.JMO
