Went to the UBI banquet today and meet mike mitten he was selling the the new essential encounters dvd today.
he seemed to be a very genuine guy.
it was my pleasure to talk with him. As soon dinner is done the wife, kids and I are going to have a family essential encounters rendezvous. :campfire:
Yup Mike is a great guy to talk to.
Mike is a great guy.I was fortunate enough to be in Bear camp with him last Spring were he did a bit of videoing along with Barry W. for EE !!
I had the brief opportunity to meet him at the changing of the guard at Bear Quest last year. Mike was in week one and I was in week two. Met him at Kalamazoo this year and bought a copy of "One With The Wilderness". Read it last weekend while we were babysitting for the grandkids. Once I started reading it I couldn't put it down. That book say's alot about the man, don't really know what more to say. It made me think about life in general from a different perspective.
Guys can get a look at the "real" Mike Mitten on the bonus footage of the new Essential Enounters DVD. His bird hunt footage is classic!
He's such a nice fella- he passed a bear in Quebec last year so I could get one.
Yeah.....I"ve meet him....1st thing that came to mind was ..."I thought he'd be bigger than that".
Howdie Mike!
I've mett him at compton RDV,very kind person.
Funny he does look alot bigger on tv.
Ever seen that picture of him with BOTH his avatar bucks on his back walking them out? The guy's gotta be a bull no matter how big.

Never met him but when I saw that clip with him carrying those bucks, I knew I didn't want to
p!$$ him off. :scared: :D
I would have liked to have seen him pass that bear Marty! That must of been quite a sight!
Mike's a good friend of mine. Personally, I think he keeps me around because I have a wide angle lens on my camera which makes him look a lot bigger than he is, HA!
Heard nothing but great things about him :readit:
Fine gentleman indeed!
I was just kidding guys....He is a big fellow no doubt. I enjoyed our chats at the PBS in Nashville. Would LOVE to hunt with him sometime.
Terry
Spent a week with him in Quebec last spring.
You aint gonna see much of him around hunting camp, he is all business.

My kinda guy!!!...that's why I'd like to hunt with him....HUNT...not sit around camp and chit chat...till camp fire time of course.
Right on, Terry, right on!
My favorite Trad article was written by Mike, describing a wilderness Moose hunt he did in Canada. I have never wanted to go wilderness hunting more than when I fiished that article. Kudos!
Thanks for all the nice comments. I just got back from the United Bowhunters of Illinois banquet only to see this thread from some of the folks I met there. Very humbling. Oh... I usually loose 10 to 18 pounds during hunting season, but from the sounds of things I need to bulk-up now! Ha!LOL , Mike

Good one Mike, I better start working out harder to catch up.

Howdie Mike!
:biglaugh: Mike a great guy I enjoy seeing him whenever I can
Marty says he taught Gene most of everything he knows about whitetails.
Can't wait to meet Mike this spring! I'll bet he won't be able to carry out the bear he shoots though? Any bets!
i talked 2 him at kalamazoo... hes a big boy lol
Hey mike, I watched the new dvd I got from you this weekend and I must say it was put together very well.
I will enjoy it for years to come.
Good hunting.
scott
Told ya he was a "weenie" . . . it's all smoke and mirrors:^)
They don't come any better than Mr. Mike Great ambassador for our sport.
I can take him.........

Posts like this one are the reason I find myself clicking on a thread whenever I see Biggie has responded. Dude, you have a direct line to my funny bone.

Don't know, Biggie...
In your new "slim form," I can imagine him walking out with you over one shoulder, Marty over the other!
Maybe you could outrun him!?!?!
Joey....Marty told me he taught you everything you know about turkeys.....
Biggie would only have to step on Mike's foot to end a match. Let me put it this way....when Biggie steps on a cigarette butt, that thing is OUT! I've never seen Jill dance with him without the look of fear in her eyes. Does anyone want to buy a pogo stick used only once by Biggie?

It's funny now, but Mike hasn't seen it yet
Oh, I have seen this now. No one is a match for Biggie, not even his ladder stand would support him. LOL He has been asked to go to Japan and stomp out the fire at the power-plant. LOL
Anyway, thank you all for your support and good fun over the years, Mike
That's right Mike. Godzilla heard he might be coming and went and hid.
You fella's quit pickin on Biggie-he's a sensitive fella with a heart of gold. Mike Mitten didn't really carry those two deer at the end of Primal Dreams-his brother Whitey is a genius at editing. At BearQuest last year-I had to help Mike carry his camera in and out of his bait-it's all smoke and mirrors. We went fishing one afternoon and he wouldn't even bait his own hook with the leeches. Scaredy cat would be a step upward. Is it April First yet?
Mike, I might take Ryan up on his bear hauling bet. I'm gonna have Tyler and Jen shoot the big fat ones before you get there.
