Title: My new Maddog M.U.T.T.
Post by: Flyboy718 on March 04, 2011, 03:12:00 PM
All I can say is Wow!  This is a sweet shooter, super quiet, little hand shock and very accurate.  I am impressed to say the least.  This is my first longbow and couldn't be happier.   41# @ 28" and I am drawing it to 30". Bumble bee diamondwood riser and black walnut limbs with black glass on back and brown on the belly.

*****please re-size pic no wider than 640 pixels****

Wow, that is beautiful! Love the looks of the riser.    :bigsmyl:   I hope that bow brings you lots of happy shooting sessions. Congrats.

You might want to resize that pic though, as they will probably pull it.   ;)

Yeap, its gotta piece of your bow in it.  Awsome how well it shoots.  I think I might want one of those 60" recurves now.

:biglaugh:    Mike is an awesome bowyer to be sure! A matching recurve would be the ultimate Maddog setup!

What's the length?

Geeze!  No wonder the demand outstripped his expectations.  That's a pretty bow for something he describes as a way to use up leftovers.

Outstanding!

Your bow looks so good one wouldn't think it was made of leftovers!

Hey Flyboy, NICE mutt!

Mike sure does make some sweet bows, I absolutely love mine! Looking at it, the brace height looks high and the nock looks low. Are you getting good groups with it? If not it looks like you have room for tuning.

If you're knocking off feathers and nocks you can ignore this post.

Thanks for all the kind words guys!

sticksnstones:  I don't even have any arrows tuned to it yet...haven't had a chance, but I will this weekend.  The arrows that I have been shooting out of it are way off and still getting good groups and the nock is not perfect either I just eye balled it and went shootin.  I will fine tune everything this weekend, I have just been so busy.  The brace in the pic is set at 7" Mike said that should be pretty close to the sweet spot and he is right...I can't wait to see what this thing will do with some tuned arrows!

It would be just terrible if anything that is that cost efficient and shoots as good as they do becomes everyone's favorite deer killing machine. So if the glass was just one color it wouldn't be a junker made from scraps bow?  i had a bow that I paid a fortune for that had white and green glass, and I believe the green was extra.  You don't always get what you pay for, sometimes you get way more.

I haven't seen any other M.U.T.T.'s close up, but I may have just lucked out on what was left as 'scraps' Mike did say that it had several different pieces of wood in the riser, but you just really can't see it, or at least I can't...this bow will deffinately be going to the deer stand with me Saturday, October 1, 2011...I am just tickled to death with this bow I hope I can shoot her as well as she deserves to be shot.
