With a 6 strand D97 string and no silencers, my Montana shoots 10gpp at 160fps (and that's at a 28.5" draw).

Hey vinneB,

YOur setup will work well for deer. Sharp broadheads, and try not to hit the shoulder blade and you will be surprised by the penetration. Good flying arrows and razor sharp 2-blade heads are also a good idea.  On peteward.com there is a testimonial where Shannon Kuzik killed a 50" moose with a 41# recurve and 497grain arrows tipped with two blade magnus.  He got complete penetration and the broadhead was stopped by the opposing shoulder blade. His  KE was a mere 23#.(497grain at 145fps).  Hope this helps.

thanks alot T-Bone. that makes me feel alot better about my set up. i'm shooting a 382 grain aluminum and assuming it would fly slightly slower than your 400 grain carbons i should get somewhere areound 27-30#'s of kinetic energy.

thanks alot
