Personally, I shoot Carbon Express 250 and 350's (depending on my set up).  I do know several buddies though that shoot the Axis Full Metal Jacket and they all seem to like them....

I love them. They have good weight and are easy to front load for a high FOC.They pull easily from a 3D target, and they blow through game like a hot knife thru butter. They are a bit pricy but I think they are worth the extra cost.I have had nothing but good results with them.

Thanks. Thats the stuff I wanted to here. You here that from easton but I wanted if from real hunters. They are a little pricy but if the are as good as they say they are thats ok with me.

I really liked the idea of them.  I became very frustrated when they all started to get bent.  I've heard that the problem has been fixed.  I think the aluminum was to thin on the first generation.

The last 11 deer were all pass thru's and 1 spine shot with the broadhead completly penatrating the spine sticking out the off side. That shaft did break however.(75# recurve & a 31% EFOC single bevel el grande on that shot)working up a cape buff arrow.

I put a 1.5 inch external foot on my hunting arrows and this has solved the mushrooming/splitting of the end of the shaft on hard impacts.

Excellent arrows! Shoot them mainly out of my compound but am thinking of setting some set up for my recurve.

I shoot "FMJ's" for everything. The best arrow I've ever shot.

Great arrows.  They shoot heavy 2 blades right through deer.

I'm another one that has used them out of my wheelie bow but I always felt that it was kind of wrong to shoot them out of my recurve or longbow.  Maybe it's partly because I have Blazer vanes on them...  I do not like to use vanes out of my traditional bows!

Just bought a few FMJ dangerous game shafts to try out. They are very heavy. Should penetrate well!

Tukudu. Email sent. Just wondering if this setup sounds ok to any of you out there. 400.FMJ with a 28in Arrow and 175gr up front and a 45# recurve with fastflight string. Or I could go with the 500. with 150gr up front. Opinions please.
Thanks

I have never shot them. I expect a dozen in the mail any day now though. I've been shooting Beman MFX Classics (carbon)with great results. I'll be comparing the FMJs to these MFX arrows.

I think I would start with the 500's they should be a better match. They seem to shoot a bit stiff for me from what the easton chart calls for.Moving down one shaft size was solved the problem. You could also bump up the point weight on the shaft the chart calls for.FMJ's are very tollerant of front loading.

Work with one or two shafts when working up your set up.When you find out what works well finish up the dozen.

I am in the exact same boat.  Got a great deal on some Axis FMJs on Camofire, so I am going to try them.  Currently I shoot the Bemans MFX 340's with a 100 gran brass insert then 200 grain point out of a 62lb hybrid.  Arrows are about 29 1/2 inches.  I ordered the 400's this time.

I used them as a stop gap before I got my Hickory arrows for an 83# selfbow, cant say as I was impressed with them.  Seems like a lot of money for what quite possibly will break on the first animal you shoot with it. They are just an arrow in my opinion.

Shot them for the first time last Sunday and they shot great!  Used Stu's caculator for the specs and it was spot on.   Normally shoot Beman MFX Classics, not any more.

I don't find the FMJ in Stu's drop down list for arrows. Is it just the Axis?

Thanks

Yep, that pretty much says it.  They are GREAT shafts.  I'm shooting 340's out of my 50# ILF setups and they fly like darts and hit HARD!  I've also got a couple dozen Dangerous Game FMJ 250's full length and weighted for a total of 860 grains, and they come out of the bow great.  Once you try 'em you'll be hooked!

Thanks for all the help. I'm going with the 500's. I will be back on here when they come in asking more ? I'm sure. Thanks for the deal Tom.
