Title: Spine help please
Post by: Eugene Slagle on March 01, 2011, 03:47:00 PM
Looking for some arrow shafts for my daughter & was just now looking at the Gold Tip Lightning's.
I have a few here that she used a few years ago with her Genesis bow & last night she was shooting them pretty good so I thought to get a dozen set up for her.

The problem is though is that for the life of me I have no clue of the spine of these shafts cept that they are recomended for 35# & less.

I don't have a spine tester right yet but I'm hoping that one of you have checked the spine on these arrows for your lil ones.

Any info would be appreciated.

Best bet would be to email someone at Gold Tip for the info..

Anyway, ttt for another try  ;)

I think the Genesis arrows are about 1813 Easton's or similar.
Lightnings will work, but use at least a 125 gr head to reduce the dynamic spine.
If she competes in the Genesis school programs, I believe they only allow the Genesis arrows.
PSE X-weave 100's are light spined too, use 125gr points or heavier and keep the carbon shafts longer. ICS Jr 28" arrows are good too, but stiffer than those mentioned (rated up to 45#) but I shoot them in 35-50# bow using 125gr heads and 4" feathers -they work best with at 40-45# bow, however.

She's shooting a PSE Buckeye Jr. 54" 24# @ 24" & a Zona custom T/D Recurve 56" 27# @ 24".
Both bows she draws to 20".

CoilSpring; she doesn't compete in the Genesis program "their not in our schools yet here but we're working on it" but I sometimes teach archery so her first bow was one of my Genesis bows.
