For years I fought getting an elctronic game station in our home, but was convinced otherwise and a Wii sits next to our TV now.
Now fast forward to getting new SD cards for my trailcameras and finding the cards would not load onto my laptop at all. I tried everything. :knothead:
Well long story short, my oldest son (15) suggested putting the SD cards in the Wii to see if it would read them. IT WORKED! :jumper:
Not only did it work, I use it exclusively now to review SD cards from trail cameras. It has a number of features that are handy too. Even on video mode you can zoom into and portion of the shot to look at something more closely.
Needless to say, having it on a screen that is many times larger than my computer screen to boot.
If you have already found this feature, excuse me for just climbing out from under my rock :) , but if not give it a try.
Good to know! I'll hafta keep that in mind and give it a try!
I must live under a rock. What is a Wii?
The Wii (ウィー, Wī?, pronounced /ˈwiː/) is a home video game console released by Nintendo on November 19, 2006. As a seventh-generation console, the Wii primarily competes with Microsoft's Xbox 360 and Sony's PlayStation 3. Nintendo states that its console targets a broader demographic than that of the two others.[6] As of February 2011, the Wii leads the generation over the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in worldwide sales,[7] and in December 2009 broke the record for best-selling console in a single month in the United States.[8] A distinguishing feature of the console is its wireless controller, the Wii Remote, which can be used as a handheld pointing device and detects movement in three dimensions. Another distinctive feature of the console is WiiConnect24, which enables it to receive messages and updates over the Internet while in standby mode.[9] The Wii is Nintendo's fifth home console and the direct successor of the Nintendo GameCube, being fully backwardly compatible with all Gamecube games and most accessories. Nintendo first spoke of the console at the 2004 E3 press conference and later unveiled the system at the 2005 E3. Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata revealed a prototype of the controller at the September 2005 Tokyo Game Show.[10] At E3 2006, the console won the first of several awards.[11] By December 8, 2006, it had completed its launch in four key markets.

Very cool Charles...I have to try it!
Man I'm anxious to try it also. Thank you that boy of yours for the good tip!
I normally view mine right here on the computer, but I didn't know that the Wii could even do that? I'll dang sure have to try it, thanks for the heads up.
Charles.... Thats a good thing to know about The Wii. Now I'll hava reason to use it.
Thanks.....Dave
Great tip Charles thanks gonna give it a go. The newness has worn off my daughters and it just collects dust.
My son (9) loves to load my sd cards and go thru the pictures. Its also a great way to show pictures to your house guests.
Its the only thing I like about his Wii.
Gilbert
That is awesome! Never knew ya could throw a SD card in there! Will be making looking at both trail cam pics and pics from my canon much easier.
Thanks for the Thread
...and if you don't have a Wii you can get a card reader from RadioShack for less than $20. The one I have will read 4 different sized cards and loads right to my computer.
DONT FEEL BAD. MY SON SHOWED ME THE SAME THING AND IT IS AWESOME. IT IS REAL NICE TO LOOK AT GAME CAMERA PICTURES ON THE BIG SCREEN. IF YOU USE THE SLIDE SHOW MODE, IT PUT THE PICTURES TO MUSIC.
Been doing this for a couple of years now. But don't feel bad my 7 yr old daughter showed me how. Your right it is great.
My 4 yr old Panasonic Viera has an sd card slot as well and you can run a slide show. Nice to view pics on a 44" plasma!!! :bigsmyl:
Something else to keep in mind when buyimg a new tv! :bigsmyl:
