Title: Right arrows?
Post by: head_hunter on February 25, 2011, 09:34:00 PM
Hello, I'm looking for some help with arrow setup. I've tried several times to download Stus calculator without any success so I am hoping someone can give me a thumbs up or thumbs down for my choice. My bow is a 57lb at 28" Cari-bow SLynx 60" longbow. String is 8125 material with rubber catwhiskers. I shoot three fingers under and my draw length is 26.5". My arrow setup is Carbon Express Heritage 150's cut at 28" with 100grain brass insert and 135 grain zwickey broadhead. At the tail end of the shaft I have a capwrap, nock collar and fletched with 3-5" shield feathers. Am I in the ballpark? Thanks             Todd

Should be ~13#'s underspined.

A 50 gn insert should have you very close.

Don't ask us... take them out & shoot them! If they fly straight for you then try them with some broadheads. If they still fly good with broadheads what more could you ask for?

Couple of catches with this setup.  First you need an adaptor to get your Zwickey on your arrow.  The long alum in 5/16 weighs 32gr so that brings your BH weight up to 167gr.  With that you can use a regular insert @15gr and you will be pretty close.

I am emailing you a calc page to look at.  You need to have MS XL on your putor to see it....

Like Jeff said above... These are basic numbers.  You need to shoot this thing.
