Got a handshake that could crack a coconut, that Big Jim doe's. I know what side of the fence I want to be on if there's a ruckus..... HIS !! :)
Got to meet Big Jim (and Barb) just this past weekend. I found him to be a "Gentle Giant" of a man. Real friendly & REALLY knowledgeable!
Keith
Big Jim builds an awesome bow. I ordered my Thunderchild on the 12th of this month. Now the long wait.
Dang, He's a big Dude.
So BIG they tell "Big Jim Bunyan" stories here in the South and his pet Hogzilla that he tragically lost a few years back.
Big Jim is so big I seen him string a bow holding one limb in his crotch, push and pull method.
Saw him from a distance at Cloverdale a couple of years ago. I did not dare to get any closer.
Bigger is better and theirs non better then big Jim

Burt, glad you're enjoying to bow! Not really, I miss it! :( ;) When I get the funds I'm gonna replace it with a "plywood" takedown version.
Yep, Big Jim is as good as they come, heck of a nice guy and builds a great bow!
I've got two of Big jims bows, two of my most prized possessions.I've had many conversations with the little fella and a finer person and bowyer you will not find.
after getting my new 56" long bow i really want to order a thunder child. only problem is the one i want will cost to much right now. so it will be a long long time.
Big Jim is an awesome character! Has treated me very well and given me straight honest answers. One of the few that takes the time to answer questions despite his busy schedule.
Im 6 ft 300 lbs and Jim made me coward into the fetal position until I ordered a new bow.
What you see in the pictures is a disguise, he is really 5'3" and weighs only 98 lbs.
Some of you guys had better HOPE Jim has a sense of humor.

And he ain't that ugly either...he's just puttin' on. :D
Jim is a fine person....and Barb keeps him straight. It was good to see him this past weekend. Always enjoy doing business with him. Even when he was busy he found time to make me up a string that I needed badly. Thanks Big Jim.
his bows caught my eye and look to be superbly crafted. how long is the wait and what is the price range on his bows??
thanks!
Met him and his wife at one of his 3d shoots, both a very nice people who go out of their way to help you.
Jim and Barb are great people BUT I heard they call him Big Jim because he used to be a porn star, LOL...(yuck, sorry for that visual, lol).
Jim's a powder puff.... :D ;) :p
It ain't no disguise, I am that ugly! Yes Bow50, it's true.
Dill- just wait til I see you .......fill in the blank. lol
Thanks for all the kind words. We enjoy what we do and that makes it easy.
Bigjim
I always liked messin with the biggest fella in the class. (LOL) :D ;) :p
He looks like that big dude in Harry Potter.First thing that came to mind when I saw that picture of him holding out that deer.Must be from TX.
huntingarcher- Harry is right, but I don't know Potter. I have been in Georgia for the last 17 years, but I am a Viking- born and raised in Minnesota. Don't ever remember being able to lift too many deer like that back in Minn.
Bigjim
What part of Minnesota are you from?
Grew up in Albany Minnesota (near St. Cloud). My father was the local Veterinarian there. We pretty much new everyone. Had no problem finding places to hunt.
I now live in Albany Georgia. Talk about a climate change! Been here for 17 years now. Both places have there enduring qualities.
Bigjim
I lived the first 6 years of my life in East Grand Forks Minnesota before God blessed me when we moved to the great state of West by God Virginia.
Reading thru these posts I can tell which of you fellas' addresses are in Big Jim's files, and which aren't! :scared: :notworthy:
He's as nice as he is big!
Had to look at him 3 times to see all of him.... :biglaugh:
Good thing lots of those Big Fellas also have big hearts. To me Jims one of the best.To do what he does I still think he has a hidden closet full of Elves ! LOL
I have nothing but good things to say about Big Jim, he's the one that introduced me to quick stick when I ordered a dozen blems from him.
I have some inserts and 300g points coming to me monday from him, and can't wait to tune up my arrows to my new bow. And once I get things tuned, it should'nt be long before I order some broadheads.
Does Big Jim make recurves?

I don't think that he does, but I'd certainly never speak for him. Drop him a line...

Can anyone answer this question?
I placed my order in September of last year, and it looks like my bow may be done in late March or early April.
Just a great guy to do business with.....even though I've only ordered a couple of quivers from him he took the time to answer a couple of email questions in the most humble way....true concern for the satisfaction and usability of his products. I am looking forward to ordering a TC from him this year.
I did have the pleasure to meet Big Jim at Cloverdale a couple of years ago. It is ashame that I was too ignorant to fully appreciate the artistry at hand.
hello, please, about the Big Jim bow , when you recieve a new one, is it a protection sock with ?
thanks
Big Jim is a LARGE fella.
Rumor has it that when Big Jim does push ups he doesnt' put his body up...he pushes the earth down.

Let me tell you one secret Lowebow:
The guy can extract an ATV from the bottom of a creek, BARE HANDS! :scared: :scared: :scared: :scared: :scared:
But don't tell anyone, it's a secret!!
F-Manny
Big Jim trims his beard and sells the remnants to factories to make steel wool pads.
There is no theory of Evolution, Just a list of creatures Big Jim allows to live.
Too funy. Jim is a great guy, even for a yankee, except I call him Tiny Tim. I keep trying to make him mad to see how much stuff he can tear up but he never bites.
BTW the wait is about 7 months for a bow, my bro in law ordered one yesterday, I feel it will be very much worth his wait.
