My wife and I, along with another couple are going to be in town for the Cheyenne Frontier Days, July 23 - 31. We probably won't spend the whole time at Frontier days. Is there any thing for Traditional archers to do during that time frame?
One of the bigest shoots around here is the very next weekend. Not an all traditional shoot but a good one none the less.
Rocky Mountian Specialty Gear is not to far away. Always a great place to check out.
Bring your fly rod. The Laramie range and the Medicine Bows aren't too far from Cheyenne. Lots of trout to be caught there. You can stump shoot to your heart's delight on public ground, too.
Curt Gowdy state park about 25miles out of town to the west (Medicine Bow National Forest that centaur is reffering to) has a nice outdoor shooting range. You have fishing/hiking/biking and of course the archery range all in one park. Well worth a day pass.
I second the opinions above. The first weekend in Aug. is a really good 2 day 3D shoot. It is the largest one in Wyo and Colo. 2 great courses to shoot. One is set aside for Trad only. A great bunch of guys. If you can stick around till that weekend you will enjoy it.
