This may be a little early but I am waiting on my bow to be delivered and I need something to do! :) Planning on posting again later but I thought I would throw it out there for you to be thinking about.
Wondering if there would be any interest in designating 2-3 days in mid to late October to have a Trad Hunt :campfire:
Sounds good if I can get the Planets to line up! Thanks
Sounds like it could be fun.
I could go for that, been awhile since I hunted there.
Ah yes Two Wolves! You already know the answer for me, I will be there, if not a few days early! You can count me in for sure.... There is nothing better than a sunrise with bow in hand at LBL!
:campfire:
I would love to Bill. I'm sure there would be a lot of interest among some fellow KY members.
Oh btw, text me when you get your bow in the mail.
Oh yeah, I'll be sure to pack plenty of baby wipes for everyone! ;) :saywhat: :biglaugh:

So does that mean you are calling for the position of "certified all time hindend wiper"?
:biglaugh:  :dunno:
LBL hunting has been pretty bad last 2 years, several of my buddies, die hard bowhunters, usually hunt there 10 days at a time, no luck last 2 years, big kill off due to blue tongue 3 years ago, still seeing cases of it. These hunters bring home the game year after year also, you migh want to think of another place to hunt, just thought I would chime in.
Check Ky Double Lung's Avatar. I plan on going to LBL several times but hey, I am open to suggestions.

I think I know where we might find a few!
Bumping it back up! Looking like first weekend of November (Weekends during deer season starts on Thursday... just sayin'). Any interest?
I miss that place! Went to school at Murray State and nearly flunked out for 3 reasons: Good lookin' women, cocktails, and bowhunting LBL :) Someday I am gonna do another hunt there just for memories :campfire: You guys have fun!
Sounds like fun, haven't hunted there for several years. Is it season yet? Lol
66...(this day is over, scratch that...) 65 days till Kentucky's Archery Season begins!!
I could be tempted to do it. Got some good memories from the early 70's down there...
Sounds like a good idea, I'll be watching the post.
Sounds like fun.. I'm working that weekend. If you change the date somebody PM me.
Thanks
I'm game.
We hunt there several times every year, over the past 10 years..., so count me in! Blue tongue hit pretty hard everywhere in Ky, but I saw lots of deer last year, and the year before. You may just need to hunt a different area. By the way, what area were you planning to gather? I'd love to meet up with some trad bowhunters at LBL, we are allways the only ones!
Planning to head down Wednesday night (11/1) or Thursday morning (11/2) in time to be in a tree. Probably camping at Wranglers Campground. Anyone seriously interested in joining us, please pm me your name and cell phone number and that way, between this site and contact info, I should be able to update with any details. Have a great day and keep shooting!

What's an out of state license and tag costing? I may be coming home to Russellville this fall and might make it during that time frame
Non-resident Hunting: $130.00
Non-resident Deer Tag: $60.00
LBL Hunting Permit: $20.00
Hunting with fellow Traditional Archers: Priceless!
Thx Wolves. I just started looking at flights. Have to be ib GA for a wedding and will try to get there
Bumping it back up. I may be camping in a "redneck tipi". You sure don't want to miss that! LOL
Little over a month away! Lots of good deer being taken in Ky. so far, could turn out to be a fantastic year at LBL! Let's hope Mother Nature gives us good weather!
:campfire:
Can. Not. Wait. :bigsmyl:
:campfire:
Is there still room?
Absolutely! LBL is s big place. :)
Bill sounds like a good time. If you have spots around the campfire I'd like to try and make it.
TJ, Trad Gangers make room at the campfire. Hope you can make it. BTW... Awesome deer!

Yep, I believe it's 177,000 acres in both Ky & Tenn.
If anyone does actually come to LBL, my cell phone number is 502-550-6076. You can text (preferred, as I will be hunting) or call. Been very low interest so I will be backcountry camping instead of camp ground. Let me know you are there and we can meet up somewhere, maybe even get a bite to eat together. Still looking for my first Trad kill so I will be hunting hard but always glad to take the time to meet new (and old) Trad friends. Good luck hunting tri everyone.
