Title: Kanati Slim Jim quiver
Post by: ermont on February 21, 2011, 02:37:00 PM
I saw a picture of Rank Bull's Pronghorn on another thread and now I "need" one. I looked on the Anneewakee site but didn't see one. Anybody know where I can find one?

Go back to the anneewakee site and call John, He has them just don't have them on the site yet. The slim jim is the best thing since sliced bread!!

Is that the one I have seen where the arrow hood is or looks flat? Holds 3 maybe 4 arrows?

Ron,  that's the one.  It's made for 2 blade heads and is a great quiver.  I love mine but since I use 3 blades its just sitting in the garage for now.

it is a fantastic piece of ingenuity i will tell ya, i dont own one , but i marvel at its appearence everytime i see it, john dill is always coming up with something new for aneewakee archery. and this piece you speak off in my opinion has reset the benchmark for bow quivers. ruddy

I have one and it is a really great idea for two blade broadheads, which is what I use most of the time. The best part compared to other models is the flat, thin profile.

I saw it someplace and went to the web site but couldn't find it...is it that new? I like the concept. Are they available to the public?

Lots of Bow Quivers on the market...with many striving to build a lighter quiver and maintain functionality. The Kanati Slim Jim answers the age old delima better. Without using weaker, thinner components we are able to build a quiver using quality grade leathers and components. It sets very tight to the bow so that quiver weight rides more center on your bow instead of far off to one side, causing torque. Thats also the goal of our offset brackets designed on our pro series quivers. All to give a better balance to your bow.

MAN! I wish I had slim jim angle like the first one of the three in the pic. above!LOL
The slim jim is by far the best quiver i've ever strap to my bows, Mounts solid and don't move, sets flat on your lap while hunting, Good feather clearence with the big 5.5 in. fleching and just dang looks sexy on my bow!

LOL!  I thought about letting it go, but I know I'll be dropping bow weight and switching to 2-blades one day or if I get a chance to chase bigger critters it'll come in handy.

Has anyone had problems with clearenace of the grip?  In other words because the hold so tight to the riser does it interfer with hand/grip on your riser?  I had a GN strap on that just sat way to close to the riser and caused me grip problems.

Thanks

Michael

I own one of the older style Kanati bowquivers with the leather top and holds four arrows. If I purchase a slimjim, would I be able to install my old style hood on the new style bracket for multi blade heads?

Saw

Prices will be up soon. The Slim series range from $89.00 up.

Foxbo

We build the Pro Hood for multi blades on the same bracket (bar) that you see in the pics. Its a lighter slicker rig. coming in at 7 ounzes. They are a permenant attachment to keep the quiver safe and solid. If you like your older kanati, I might be able to swap hoods to a new 2011 center bar. Call me if your interested

Think it would be possible to modify and attach a Kwikee Kwiver Bracket?

Title: Re: Kanati Slim Jim quiver

Bob Stinson designed the Kwikee Kwiver many years ago and sold a million plus several years ago. There probably on their second or third million by now. They make a time tested quiver for sure.

I'm sure anything can be modified but it want be 100% in design and function that we put in these quivers. Besides once you try one of these Slim Jims.....the kwikee will be fast collecting dust on your shelf.  :D

Pleasure talking to you as well...i can't wait to get the Slim Jim on my bear bow.  Sure the black leather with red lacing will look great with my new red stripe. The belt quiver option is also nice...two quivers in one!

Thanks

I hate this place!
I've been scheeming for a short recurve/small bow quiver combo and thought I had it all figured out and now see the Slim Jim is actually 4 arrow(with the outside clip) and looks pretty trick.
Back to the drawing board...

John I have a crazy question that might have been asked before. Is it possible to get the middle sleave built to handle a three blade head. I would like to see a combination like that.????

John, beautiful quivers and great, inovative design. Love the stitching, but what keeps the broadhead from cutting through it?
Title: Re: Kanati Slim Jim quiver
Post by: John Dill on February 25, 2011, 12:09:00 PM
Mahan

Its a very tight fit for safety reasons. This quiver acts like a knife sheath for 2 blade heads. You pretty much have to litterally hammer a 2 blade head in the quiver to reach the possibility of cutting a thread.

Tuku

We designed a few three blade protos and were not to my liking and kind of ugly. That dosent mean we want keep trying though. I would suggest the conventional pro hood models for a three blade or any other type head.
