With all of the posts from Raging Waters, it's getting tempting to get a heavy LH bow. Let's see what you got. Say 90#'s and up.
I know I know ,worthless without the pics...but my buddy is on a hog hunt . he has a 79 #@28" older saluki ibex but that''s the heaviest.
I have a 67# but if you wanted 90#+ Im out....
Careful, the wanting can quite often be better than the having. When I shot heavy bows, a few fellows bought them as well, even though I would advise them against it. Very soon after they got their heavy bow, most of them wanted to know if I wanted to buy it from them. A good way to tell what you can pull, is to grab two Hills in your bow hand and pull them back at the same time. I can draw two 64 pounders left and right handed a number of times. The last thing I would want to shoot is a 100 pound bow. Even for exercise purposes one should be able to draw the bow back with proper form, if it looks like one "could cut washers off your rump", like Hill used to say, and you need to go through odd contortions to get the thing back, the exercise will not help your current shooting either.
It would only be for training. My HH rogue is around 88# @ 29". No contortions needed to draw it.. I Still am not at a point where I would hunt with it, but my Dakota that is 78-79# at my draw feels lighter every day. I'm just thinking about what I might try next.
You make my shoulders ache, and I just developed a twitch in my bow elbow.
Hope you know somebody in the medical community.
Killdeer :p
Marlon is going to have fun with this. Where are you Marlon, come on HeavyBows.
You could get a a heavy Rudderbow for exercise and get a twin in a usable poundage of the same design for the price of one fancy bow. I hear he has an all bamboo that shoots real sweet.
One of my buddies had a St Charles longbow in the classifieds that was pretty heavy, maybe not 100#. He still has it I know and would love to trade it for a lefty in the 45-50# range. You could probably do a search in the classifieds and see pics of it. It is signed by Glen St. Charles also.
Lol, Kathy.
Pavan, I checked out rudderbows. They list that the make bowd only up to certain weights, then show Marlon shootng a bruiser that they made? There is a lefty shooting a bow on video that would be just about right. I'd still like to see some pics.
TLANE, I saw that bow and thought it a little short for me.
