Here is Matt "Raging Water" Hamilton taking advantage of all the mojo this gift from Mudd had to offer. Don't let Matt kid you....he's a great shot. Of course it doesn't hurt that he shoots bows with a draw weight that takes the "arch" out of archery...lol

Thats awesome! Way to represent Matt. Glad you guys had fun. Thanks for sharing Rob!
More pics from today..... Here's Bisch scoring his favorite target....the skeeter

And the group climbing up 35' to retrieve the arrows from the Mt Lion.....this shoot always finds great locations for the lion.

There was a bonus Ram target 40' up on a cliff and a baboon up in a tree....but I'll let Bisch tell y'all about those.
Nice pics Rob! I had a blast today. it was a great set-up (with maybe a few two many brain teasers). BTW, I hate that skeeter! It was the only miss for me today. Also, I think that ram was quite abit more than 40'. It was nearly straight up too. As far as monkeys go, I do not think that monkey would taste any good anyway.
I will definitely be back next month!
Bisch
Mudd, Matt was representing well! Even in the 30mph wind.

When did Matt start shooting a Bowtech? (haha)

Well done guys! Glad to see everyone having fun. Missed being there. At least you didn't have the elk at the bottom of that 100' cliff this time.
You psyched yourself out on that skeeter amigo....as for the baboon?....my apologies for the funny comment that caused you to double clutch, laugh, and lose 3 points....lol. Good fun was had by all for sure.

Danny, I would have rather had the elk than a few of the shots they had out there today. They told us they had made it harder this month and they were not lying. There were a handful of shots that you just let out a sigh of relief if your arrow hit foam.

No apologies necessary, Rob! I did not double clutch when i took the shot.......that was more of a choke!

How cool is this? Way!!! I'm saying...
Thanks for all the pictures.
I can tell that you guys had a blast, thank you for taking us along.
God bless,Mudd
Mudd - Matt wore the hat with pride. The 30 mph winds caused the feather to go in the quiver first, but I think you need to make Matt a chin strap....the hat looks better on his head than in flight...lol.
Danny - tell Ben we missed his Bear killin' skills.
I'm hoping that folks that got hats made of that soft gray leather will use the hat itself as a pattern and make themselves and anyone they know a hat worth the wearing.
At the time I made those, it was the only leather I had. Now I'm trying some different materials and so far the wool looks good.
After the beginning of this next month I am going shopping to get a variety of materials to try out.
I also would suggest that Matt put a few rocks inside the folds. I'm sure that would weight down the hat to keep it from blowing away...lol
Gents,
The wind was pretty strong today and kept blowing my hat off. But, when I was wearing it, I shot well. When, I took it off, I shot like I usually do.
There is some Robin Hood-Mudd Mojo in that Hat!
Here is a picture of my son. But..... here is the backstory. Just before this Pronghorn target, we shot at a Baboon (up a tree).
I shot well, with the hat on, and got the 12 ring. So, my Son rubbed the hat on his head and off to the next target we went.
Here was his next shot. Again, I think there is some Mojo there! Thanks Mudd!

Here is one of the targets at the Lampasas shoot. Pretty cool.

That was a great shot by Chet on the antelope! Matt, I should have used that hat on a couple of my shots (esp. the skeeter).

That photo of that Ram is deceiving.....that target was WAY up a cliff. I think Matt's arrow is still going >>>------>
Matt, that is a great pic of that ram. As Rob said, it was farther up than it looks in that pic. It really looks like a real ram sillohetted on top of the bluff.
Bisch
Oh yea, were running around up to our ying yang in snow, and you guys are wearing short handle pants.
And from the looks of things, having a great time. Can't waite for the snow to go. Thanks for the pics.

In case you were wondering; That is a 64" 83# at 29" Pronghorn. I draw about 27 1/2" so, you do the math. It is one flat casting, hard hitting bow!
I love it.
Matt

Yep, that Ram was quite a way up that cliff. In real life, none of us would have taken that shot. But, it was fun to try.
And, my arrow probably headed south and landed in Cedar Park. :goldtooth:

Hey I graduated high school in Lampasas. Fine part of Texas and had about a zillion deer back then-probably now too. I live in Oklahoma now but it would nice to come back for a visit. You guys let an transplanted Okie shoot without being a member?

Jim - the Lampasas shoot is the 3rd Sunday (that's the day after bath day for you Okie's....lol) of each month.....for more info and maps go to nocked-loaded.com and click on the flashing "3d range" button. We'd love to have ya.
Bath? What bath? I sure might just show up one of these days and teach you Texacans how to shoot.
Jim - We'd be glad to have you. Judging from what that course and the wind did to us yesterday we need some lessons....lol. Lampasas hasn't changed much since......1915 or so, but because you said you graduated from Lampasas High that usually means someone will have to draw you directions....lol.
Roy,
Just go to Goodwill and buy a wool coat for $5.00. Enough material for several "R" hats!
