I'm thinking about my next arrows using 4 fletch arrows, lets see some pics of your arrows with 4 fletch on them.
Try the search engine, may be some in there.

4" 4 fletch. This is how I fletch all my arrows now. Love them for arrow flight and stability in the wind.
Mine are kinda basic and the pic quality stinks since its from my phone, but here you go. 4" Raptor cut Flo green and Purple. I call them toxic.

Very nice four fletches right there. Will have to post some pics up of mine soon.
I need to come back to this when I can get my eyes to focus again. WOW those are bright.
LOVE them pinks.
Here is my 1st try at 4 fletch arrows

Thinking of going this route myself! Keep'em coming! Cool pics BTW! Jason
Hey Charlie - nice looking arrows, interesting feather profile. Is that a custom chopper or are you burning them that shape?
Great looking arrows. So it looks like most of you glue your feathers like this X instead of +
Am I right??
Thanks for your time and help.

those look awesome, so it looks like most of you are using offset also that was my big question that I didn't know
Golee bum, good looking stuff!
CR, smart looking arrows. I have 4-fletch but notice a speed difference slower than 3-fletch. Was considering 2-fletch MOF. Your short fletch should restore stability while not so much loss in speed over 3-fletch. Just curious.
do you get more stable arrow flight...what are the advantages of 4 feathers?
I use 60-120 degree helical four fletch, cut as low and short as my Little Chopper allows. Arrow FOC in the high teens. Stabilizes a Grizzly or similar bhd just fine!
Advantages? Lower nocking point due to the 60-120. Low noise and wind resistance due to less fletching height.
Can't say it's the best. Have plans to try more FOC and less fletch. Will likely be messing with such things as long as I can pull a bowstring.
Nice looking arrows guys.
CR how long are your feathers? is that your own design cut?
i'm sure Charlie will be back shortly, i'm pretty sure it is is own design and he cut them himself. i can say after watching him shoot the last few weekends they fly GREAT!
Those look like a 2.25 " shield back Truflight...

Sorry guys I forgot about this post.
I am relatively new at making arrows and found an old feather burner, figured I would give it a try.
Normally I shoot 3 fletch but thought for a hunting arrow I should have more stability just in case I flub up on the release.
I guess you can call this design a High-Back Shield. they came out to about 3 inches long (a little by accident) but I figured would be close to three 4 inch shield cuts.
I was trying for a combination of a shield cut and a parabolic cut but wanted it to be taller instead of longer.
They seem to fly good for me so I I'll keep the wire in that shape.
Y'all make some beautiful arrows. I'd like to try my hand at some 4 fletch banana feathers one day.

Great pics Charlie!
pretty cool! do you have a cock feather straight out? or one feather in the corner of the shelf?
The one of the ground squirrel is awesome!
Charlie, that last one doesn't count. :readit: ;) Great photos as always.
Funny.. I guess blood doesn't stick too the Tradgang.com....lol
Awesome pics Mr. Lamb!
I've never used 4" feathers with four fletch, but they seem to be popular. Snag, those are some really great looking arrows!

Thanks Bernie. I switched to 4 4" fletching from the recommendation of an experienced bowhunter friend. I really like the way they fly and they are quiet. I don't have to look at my arrow to nock it properly like I would with a 3 fletch too.
I just mailed a dozen of these to the guys in Afganistan. 75 x 105 fletching.

4x5" shields. 75/105.
It never took another step.
