Always wanted one, bought one 60lb. draw has the bolt on limbs, did'nt try it out,it's like new.Well I strung it and drew it back.Feels alot heavier draw then my 65lb. zipper and feels like it's stacking at 3/4 my draw lenght.Have a feeling it's going to never be used now.I love my kodiaks .This just does'nt feel right to me.Was hoping the draw was smoother. are these usually good shooting bows? When it is set up and I shoot i will let yous know how it does.
swamper, can you tell me what kind of limb tips you have? Those old bow tend to stack a bit and aren't as efficent as modern customs. The riser itself is one of the best ever made the limbs are the weak part of the combination. If you find/buy some modern aftter market lims,my suggestion is for Rose Oak,you'll see a big boost in feelings and performances.
AH, "bolt on limbs", must be the takedown hunter not as good as the latch takedowns. They are dogs in comparison.
Danny
Same as the riser wood, other black same color as limbs
Yea,bolt on limbs.
Sorry,my mistake!Danny is right I was talking about the Custom Kodiak.
I have one with bolt on limbs 55@28, and it is a good shooter. I would still be shooting it a lot if I had not bought a BW.
The bolt-ons were quite a bit different than the latch system T/D's. To be honest with you...no comparison. In any way.
I owned a Bear take down. Thought it was a pretty good shooter.
As said before not the same as the latch system type. I went my own path (typical) in getting a Bear TD. I bought a "B" Riser off the classifieds. I chose that size because I like a longer sight window. Next I had limbs made by RER......
I love how it shoots and I really recommend the RER limbs.
