Title: Arrow wraps
Post by: ShrnShndl on February 11, 2011, 04:54:00 PM
Hope this is in the right spot, if not, moderator please move.  Bought some Axis carbons with wraps.  Need to put on new feathers.  Is there any way to remove the wraps other than scraping?  Thanks for any info.

Jim

Yep, soak in hot water for a minute or so, then peel em pretty quick. Afterwards wipe them down with some acetone. Then your'e good to go.....

I think you can use a hair dryer on them to heat the wraps up and then peel them off.

I've tried all the above and no matter what you still get residue left that you must scrub off with acetone or something.  It's still quicker for me to just scrap them off with a good knife 1 strip at a time.  They are easy on, and a pain in the butt off.    :D

Once you boil the wrap in water and peel it off, there will be glue residue like JCook said.  Spray it with WD40...and spray some on a rag...that'll take it off quickly.  Then clean with acetone or denatured alcohol.  Make sure you take your nock out before putting them in the water.....otherwise you'll need new nocks....don't ask me how I know.
