The Midwest Traditional and Primitive Archery Expo is growing daily, as Kota Bows' Tim Finley just signed up. The schedule for seminars hasn't been set yet, but will be when I touch bases with the program speakers (Fred Asbell, Steve Gorr, Paul Shore, Gene Winter, Dan Brockman and Compton scoring.
TradGangers, get the word out about this event. Let's have a great TradGang turnout.

Also awesome that kids are free!
Cool send more info when you can !
Telling everyone I know including some wheelie people I'm trying covert. If you need any help I live only twenty minutes away.
Do any of you know if Jason Kendall of J.K Traditions will be at this show? I would love to get my hands on his bows. Thanks, Joe
We are really looking forward to this event and meeting allot of people from the central part of the country that come by our booth
If I was still in Iowa that would be fun.
This is shaping up to be a great show! Sounds like the vendor line up is looking good. There will be plenty of great bows and items to see. Now we just need the support of customers so that this can grow into an annual event.
The location is within easy driving distance of major cities like Minneapolis, Omaha, Kansas City, St. Louis, Chicago, etc. This should be a good chance for people who are just too far or couldn't make it to Kalamazoo.
Any successful event like this needs support from two places. The vendors need customers to make it worthwhile. So if you'd like to see it become an annual gathering, it's up to people like you to make it happen!
See you there! :wavey: :wavey:
So far, the list of vendors signed up to attend the Midwest Traditional and Primitive Archery Expo in Waterloo, Iowa, includes: Footed Shaft; Dwyer Longbows; Black Widow Custom Bows; Prairie Traditions (Bow Hospital); Kwik-Strap; St. Joe River Bows; Holm-Made Traditional Bows; Pine Hollow Longbows; Lost Nation Archery; Best Friend Longbows; G&M Archery; Kota Bows; Tall Tines Archery; Jerry Co.; Ruby Ranch Outfitters; 21st St. Archery; Compton Traditional Bowhunters; Northern Mist Longbows; Da Wool Lady; Tri-State Archery and KME; Prairie Longbows; Paul Shore's Bowfishing Magazine; Cascade Archery; Winter Bow Shoppe; Hunters Image; Iowa Traditional Bowhunters Assn.; Colstad Enterprises; TradArchers' World magazine; Sauk Rapids Archers; Dave Ricke-Knifemaker; Sauer's Veneers; and Lon Scott.
More vendors are expected to sign up in the next couple of days.
Seminar speakers include Fred Asbell, Steve Gorr, Paul Shore, Gene Winter, Dan Brockman and Compton Traditional Bowhunters. The seminar schedule is yet to be determined.
Hope this helps.
I forgot - RER Bows will be there, too!
Is that $5/day to get in? Is there a weekend rate? It may work out that I can see this inaugural event. We need a cross-your-fingers Graemlin!

No, Jason said he has no in-stock bows to bring. I can bring mine along if you would like to shoot it.
I wish I could make it.
Steve- you going to stay in Iowa for the week between the Deer Classic and the Expo or make the long drive twice?
I will be there...It's my old stomp'in grounds...I graduated from Jesup High school just a few miles from Waterloo. I would love to see this become a strong Midwest annual event. I'll spread the word.
Katie--not exactly sure what I am going to be able to swing, but I am trying to work something out. I don't think I will make that drive twice in a week if there are no large antlers attached to about 300# of Iowa goodness at the end of the rainbow!
Still have not heard what small sizes you want me to try to get to the Deer Classic...
Great list of vendors Tom those attending should be very happy with what they have to look at
TTT
Steve- PM sent
Jim Belcher called today and said he'd be coming to the expo. Come see the Sky bows!

Sounds like quite the caravan of Michigan Bowyers Heading to the Midwest

I for one am very excited to get my hands on all these bows! Now thinking of getting a room and doing 2 days of the expo!!!
Sure wish I could make it to the event, but that is the same weekend as our Nebraska Bowhunters Association Banquet. Hopefully there will be another next year and I can attend then.
I am planning on going on sunday, if anyone is gonna be there give me a shout!

Wish I could make it, but it's a long drive from here! I'd like to see the show, plus the memorial they have at the center for the Sullivan brothers....REAL American heroes!

Bob
I hope I will be able to make it. It would be great to get together with all my traditional brothers and test a bunch bows. Is there any type of shooting range that will be setup?

There will be a group of us trad shooters from Sioux City Iowa making the trip. We will be there starting Friday and Saurday. Looking forward to meeting our brothers that frequent the best Traditional website on the net, "Tradgang". Maybe we should have Tradgang name tags saying who we are with our Tradgang handles. Would love to put faces with names on here we visit with so often. It might be nice if one of the Tradgang sponsers who has a both at this event volunteers to have a tradgang member sign in sheet. Chime in tradgang sponsers.
I will buy Mattie lunch:)
I won't be going, I have a guitar thing that weekend, but my son lives there. He should go and catch up with his old Sioux City shooting pals.
I can hardly wait I am packing this weekend. My friend Lon Scott who is driving there from Washington will have some of Fred Anderson's New Books. ( Toxicated )
I'll have some stick-on name tags for TradGangers at my booth (TradArchers' World magazine)and a sign-in sheet.
Thanks Tom,
Only reason I brought it up was I was at the Coon Rapids three D shoot a couple years back. There were a few Tradgangers there I would of loved to meet but didnt know they were there until a few days later. Always thought it would of been a great opportunity but missed out on.
Thank you for your efforts. Very much looking forward to the event.
Danny, man your killin me... I wish I wasn't going to NC on the next Monday.. I'd have been there...
You guys have a great time, and I'm looking forward to a succesful, long running event, us folk in the Midwest can get to...
Say hello to Mr. Treadway for me Mitch. You have a wonderful trip also.

Check out Tri-State Archery for new Bear bows.
The new Trad Archers World is coming out this week. I can hardly wait to see what John Rook hunted next. I believe the magazine will be at the show.
I will be there Saturday! Looking forward to it!
Just talked to Lon Scott he is driving to the Expo today, from Washington state no less. He has to head south to Portland the pass is closed because of snow. Stop buy his booth and say hi.
March 2 nd Lon drove through Wyoming today Nebraska is a long state I hope there are no snow drifts.
Wow, we're going to be in Cedar Falls on Saturday to watch my niece play basketball for UNI. I'm trying to talk my social director into going early and stopping at the Expo...not sure I'll get it done though. I would sure like to meet some more Tradgang members. I could bring along a Kanati too, Katie.
Here is a sampling of our 48" Youth bows we will have instock at the expo they vary in weight from 20# to 35#@24"

5 of us from Sioux City will be on the road at 5:30 a.m. Saturday headed to Waterloo!! We are all really looking forward to it!
Russ-
Hope you make it! I have not heard yet if my Kanati is requested to come. I will bring her if anyone wants to try her out. She is on loan only, not for sale:) 52@28" 56"
I'll keep working on it, Katie. Mine is not, will not be for sale...ever. Still, I think we owe it to Jason to let everyone there see what truly great bows he makes.
( BOWMAN ) very nice looking bows I will be sure to stop and have a look at the rest of the bows in your booth.
WE made it. This place is nice!
Just got off the phone with my son. He said he shot a bunch of bows. He liked a lot of them, but was impressed with the Kota line and fell in love with a 62" reverse handled Northern Mist. he said that he needed to apologize for wrecking the fletching on the 2018s he was given to shoot with the little 59 pound Northern Mist. Apparently he had trouble not slamming tight groups with it, but it looks like he will be getting one after he takes his CPA exam.
To those of you who attended the show - Thanks a bunch! Hope everyone else can make it next year, as it will be even better. Tom Colstad
