All this Hill talk made me go in the opposite direction.....Used to have three Hills and a couple other longbows...Now I'm looking at my bow arsenal and it's all recurves.....What Happened ? :knothead:
Oh well, guess that means I'll never join Mudd's Merry Men !!!
So for all you non-Hill believers, converts to the curve, this topic is for you.
Let's have fun and post some of our favorites

Tried a longbow. Yep. That was back in the early 80's. Still have it. Haven't shot it in 15 years or so.
Just so you know shooting a Hill or Hill style bow never was and never will be a requirement for being one of the "Merry Men"!
Being a "Merry Man" is a state of mind, not the bow you love and shoot.
I love all bows, just happen to get along better(in my head) with Hills.
You folks have some awesome bows and I hope a bunch of folks come on this thread and post pictures of their favorites for all of us to admire.
God bless,Mudd
PS: I consider you folks as one of us even if you don't...lol
Great pics! Hope there will be a bunch more showing off those recurves.
BTW, are those some of Teresa's wools you guys are wearing?
Yes that is an Asbell wool sweater, love that too.

Didn't mean to cast aspersions by participating here. Nothing beats a longbow for purity of form - and I like everything about the Hill Style (and Nagler, Case and Whiffen styles which are the same style) except how it makes my girly wrist feel after a day of shooting.
Longbow shooters are fine, upstanding citizens and are welcome at my camp any time. Now, it's those tin and fishpole arra shooters you've gotta keep yer eye on. (kidding, just kidding) :archer:

Yes, 'tis. Mine's the Mackinaw jacket. Great piece of gear.
Please not intended to bash any bow, just thought how many have gone in reverse from Hill to Recurve, all good in my opinion.

I'm a recurve man. I just can't shoot a longbow well. I think my mind does not like longbow grips.
Anyhow; my two Blacktail take down recurves, always strung, in my bow rack along with 10 different test arrows which are from left to right: 2013, 2016, 2114, 2212, 2213, 2018, 2215, 2117, 2216 and 2314.
