Title: New guy to the world of traditional bowhunting.
Post by: RickRod85 on February 06, 2011, 07:34:00 PM
Hey everyone, giving a little introduction. I've been bow hunting with a compound since I was 13 years old and have loved everyday I'm in the outdoors. Ive shot my friends black widow pch and absolutley love it. (disclaimer) I also understand BW isnt the end-all-be-all in the traditional bow world, but its the only one I had access to. So now it's time to move on to the world of traditional bow hunting. I'm in the process of picking a wood for my future black widow pch 60" 50lbs @28".  I'm thinking of going with the greybark just because it seems to blend in with most of our northeast woods and seasons. I've been on Trad Gang browsing for some time now and it is full of great information but it's time to make it official. My name is Rick and I have a traditional bowhunting addiction.

If you thought bowhunting was great before, and you have enjoyed the outdoors thus far...you just wait!!!

Your enthusiastic words make me think you have always been a "trad" bowhunting addict, you have just been using the wrong bow!  :D

Friends let friends shoot their Black Widows  :wavey:

BW is a great bow as are many, many  others.  Greybark is a good choice IMO.

Welcome Rick!    :wavey:

Black Widows are a heck of a bow, but if you poke around you'll find there are LOTS of nice bows out there.  The more you look the harder it is to narrow down a choice.

I usually look first at used and cheap.    :biglaugh:

Welcome aboard, Sir.  Greybark is a good choice for hunting.  I have a Greybark PAII that I hunt with.  It blends in with the trees real well.  Pretty, too.

I too am making the change after some 30 years, should of done this sooner. those widows are real nice, out of my league as we speak. It'll cool an ego though, after so many years of 1/2 dollar size groups to wow all over the target. I guess I'll be practicing for a long, long, long time.

Welcome! Where in Jersey are you? Don't know if you go to the shoots, but the Whittingham Trad shoot at the end of April is coming-up. I can't wait, this winter is taking a serious toll on me! It's not a competition, just lots of fun.
