Just received my twins! Both are BW 62" TD PLX's. Osage is 52 @ 28 and the Tulipwood is 60 @ 28. Their new TD system is the cat's meow.

Pretty slick. Always had a thing for tulip wood. How does the take down system work?

There is a carbon sleave under the beavertail grip. The receiving end is cut on the receiving angle of the other side pictured. Just slide them together, no tools needed.
Their system has no metal pieces that are exposed like other take down systems. Scrathed up a few bows when transporting them in the take down position before with other TD systems. It is real slick.

Very nice bows!!!

I traded for a 62in. 55@28 PLII about 3 months ago. It has become my favorite bow. It seems very forgiving. Now you made me want a Tulipwood.
-

Hi Scott,, pay no attention to Harl, we all know that there are two types of Trads, those that own Widows and those that want to own Widows !! LOL !! Harl is a great shooter, he could be Canadian champion if he would just get himself a one. Just kidding Tommy boy. Thanks Scott I love to see those beautiful longbows,,, Frank

Wow those are nice!!
-
Nice bows but why would you stick a hawk in the upper limb.I could see Frank doing that to cut down on the weight of his.
-
I've only really "talked" to Frank via e-mail Harl. He seems like a good guy but is he that much of a girly-man that he can't handle that 52 lb draw on that PSAX? 8*)
I stuck the hawk in my upper limb for a site Harl. The end of the handle is dead on at 30 yrds! 8*)
Have a good Christmas guys! We will have to get together sometime next year. Yous seem like my kind of people. Scott aka Skinner.
-
Is the Brace Highht kinda of high on that PSR??
-
It is set at 7 5/8 Ray. BW recommends 7 1/4 - 8"
-
Would be good to get together for sure ! Frank is OK once you get use to him as well. :D
We should set something up for the new year. It's always good to get with new fellas and do some shooting.
-
sweeeeeeeet spiders
-
I'm also packing some beagles if we have an inkling to chase some bunnies as well Harl. We will see what the new year brings. Skinner.
-
Skinner, is that the same Tulipwood PSR that is leaning against the vehicle with the Osage PL? It looks darker, but that might be the light...
-
No. Those are both PLX's Ben leaning against my truck.
The bow above is a greybark (PSR II, 52 @ 28) and I also have a PSRX in Bocote (60 @ 28).
-
Ouch !!!,, If I had any feeling you guys would have hurt them,, Scott, Lets do a bunny hunt, Harl and I would come down for sure!!

ttt

Was that like a 2fer one deal or was they full price? They are some good lookin bows.
-
CS - No 2fer one deals! LOL.
Had a good year and that was my "bonus". Being self employed, you have to reward yourself somehow. Saved a bit on shipping but that was it. Skinner.

Tell us how they shoot. I have been thinking about getting a BW long bow. Every one I have shot is a lot quieter than any recurve I have ever shot. BW claims the speed of their long bows is the same as the recurves. Do you agree?
-
hi i get 180 feet per sec with a 620 grain arrow
out off my bw plv 62# @29 inch ,idraw closer to 30
my friend shoot my arrow out off his 60 pound at 29 inch compound bowtec he got 206 feet so the differance is not as much as some people think .
off course a compound will aways be faster but it seems that the differance betwen a 45 pound compound and a 45 pound recurve or longbow is alot more than for example a 65 pound comp versus
a 65 pound recurve or longbow i dont know why but i know it is that way . the higher poundage you come upp to and the heavier arrow you use the differance betwen trad and compound speeds are less at higer pound and heavier arrows

slayer1 - I don't have a chrono to post solid numbers.
I can tell you I really like them and I also like the fact that I can switch between them and my 2 PSR recurves of the same poundages without making any adjustments in my noodle. The only thing I had to get use to is the beavertail grips. They may come off yet and get replaced by sure grips. I like the way they feel but they make the grip area just a shade thicker and they feel a little different in the hand.
