Title: String length 58" Tall tines 58" Shrew
Post by: Steelhead on February 04, 2011, 05:24:00 PM
Ordering some strings for my brother.Cant get a hold of him to have him measure his strings on these bows.

His Tall tines is 58 inch model.I thought those were taking a 55 inch string? My 60 incher takes a 57".

His Super Shrew  is a 58 inch longbow.I figured 55" on that but am not positive.

Thanks

Yes on my TT 60" I needed a longer string than usual, but if you misure the bow is a little bit longer that a classic 60"AMO too.

Eric, 58" TT should take 55" string.  He uses AMO minus 3".

Thanks Steve!I appreciate the response. That confirms what Pierre told me.I have no doubt I am getting the right length string from your guys info.An excellant string maker and TT afficionado if thier ever was one.

I was surprised a Super Shrew longbow took a 56 inch string for a 58 inch bow!I was gonna order a 55 incher.Might look a little funny with a 8-9 inch brace hieght and not shoot as well to boot

Seems like I shot a 57 inch string on my 60 incher.Been awhile though and old timers disease is starting to creep on me in little ways.So I am not sure about what length I had.Of course thier is a bit of play in a flemish twist that allows some leeway fortunatly. Its nice to have the perfect length though with about 1 twist per inch in my experience and others.

Shoot straight!
