Anyone know of one that uses the Kwikee Kwiver connect? How about a quick detach that uses the same hole spacing and location?
I am getting a TD LB built and thinking of adding the inserts. I always loved how easy the quivers were to pop on and take off on stand. I have a couple old Kwikee Kwivers and one newer modern one with a different base design that uses the same hole spacing, but I would like something more trad looking if possible.
Don't know of any Todd. What kind of bow you gettin'?
I will let you know as soon as I get my deposit in the mail. They are getting more popular and the word is getting out. ;) Come to Compton again this year and you can shoot it. :D
I was looking at some of the Kanati quivers at the expo and thinking their one piece design could work with a mounting system. I could mount one, but not quick detach unless I can find a bracket system.
Your choices are pretty much the Kwikee Kwiver, the Bohning offerings, or the TightSpot. My suggestion is don't get hung up on looking too traditional and just enjoy to rugged utility of that setup. I also think Kwikee Kwivers have been out so long noboby will accuse you of being high tech. If you want something like a Great Northern you can get one that still uses the same amo bushings but it has a different hole pattern.
I am going to do a camo action wood hunting bow with cross cut action wood veneers so some kind of camo quiver could work well with it. I was just wondering if I could find something a little more trad. I will do some research on the Bohning and TightSpot. I don't get why none of the trad quiver makers make a quick detach quiver system to fit the Kwikee kwiver insert locations that are on so many old bows. I know most people like other system and no inserts, but I loved the Kwikee Kwiver system. I like to carry arrows on the bow to my stand and then take them off to hunt and shoot. I have tried a few other one piece quivers, but have not found a system that I like.
If anyone knows of a bracket base I use let me know.
A friend of mine wrapped his Kwikee kwiver in leather. Hood and all, it looked pretty sweet!
I think Barry Wensel uses a kwikee with a leather wrapped hood. PM him and ask him.
For what its worth I have been using the TightSpot for a couple of weeks and will probably declare it the best amo hookup quiver. It has lots of adjustments including tightening the arrow grabbers. I weighs a minisculce amount more than my kwikee but I don't notice it shooting. It also sets way closer to the bow. A few hunting trips will fill in the blanks but so far I have no complaints.
Thanks for the tip Fritz.
I will look at the TightSpot more. I looked at it a little.
I also found that Truglo has a quick detach quiver with a base on the quiver that moves up and down with two screw attachment. I also found a source for an extra bracket. I think they could mount to a Kanati one piece frame if the holes line up.
