Title: arrows too light?
Post by: ymountainman on January 31, 2011, 07:20:00 PM
Hello tradgang. Im still new to trad. I always hear about yall shooting weighted arrows. I just got me a super k 50@ 28. Im shooting 2216's with 125 stingers.Arrows fly good. I killed my first deer with it and it broke a rib going in and it went out and hit the leg bone and stopped knocking a chip out of the bone. She went 40yards.She was 10yards at the shot. Is my combination unusual? Thanks!

I think you should be real close. There are a lot of guys on here that can give you a more detailed report. I use 2216's with 145 gr woodsman heads out of my 53 lb recurve. Complete pass thru on my last deer, 20 yard recovery. If it is working, I would not change anything. The charts are not always the right answer. Scott

If it works for you, that's all that matters.

You don't say what your draw length is. Unless you are drawing 30", I would think 2216's with a 125 gr pt would be way too stiff.

Thanks for your help. I shoot 29inch draw.I figured they were on the edge of being stiff. Does everyone shoot weighted arrows?
