In 4 Short weeks I get my new Bow I hope Should be a great addition to my collection.
Bringing it hog Hunting in Texas at the end of march I cant wait
Good for you Rob! Dave and Tracy are super nice people!!
Jashu, their short recurve bows do have a static limb tip. They've had guys with 30+ draw lengths test out the short bows with no complaints. Referring to their bows as a "walking staff" is bad form my friend.
Good luck on the Hogs Rob!! I have to agree with Arwin in the bow issue I have a 29 1/2 inch draw and thought the bow shot wonderfuly!!!! After 25 some odd years of shooting traditional archery my new St. Joe River longbow has been one of the most accurate I ever shot!! Of course they made the grip to my exact specs and I'm sure that has a lot to do with it!! A true custom bow for sure!!!!!
Congrats on your new bow.
Yeah I have to say I shot a lot of their bows and None of them really stacked with my 29" draw. I have some other bows that stack but not these ones.
I think your reffering to the old St Joe River Bows His bows where made differently and some of the styles stacked so they had to change some formulas to get them Right. I think Dave and tracey are doing a great job with them.
I didn't get to make K-zoo this year but i did make it last year and shoot there bows again at GLLI in michigan. You are picking a fantastic bow that is far from a stacking walking staff.I do not own one but it is on the list.

Hey Rob it was great seeing you We are looking forward to building you your bow.
Congrats on the bow Rob.
Myself, I`ll be looking into a St. Joe before long.
Arwin seems to have an "auto" setting on his.
He just shoots and deer fall dead.
I was really looking forward to trying out a few at K-zoo but I wasn`t able to make it because of some tires that decided to let me down a year or more ahead of schedule.
Michigan is blessed with some awesome bowyers!

...and some of the crappiest roads in the nation. Probably had something to do with the tire problem.
I'll second the Michigan bowyer statement.
Good Bow Rob
I have a 30" draw and have no stacking of any kind. The reason I bought this one is because of the smooth draw. i know your going to like it. good hunting. Jerry
Rob congrats on your St Joe River bow. I have a 56" Recurve on order. I should have it by the end of Feb. I shot the 56"'r, with the yew veneers, 45# @ 28" at Kalamazoo and it was a screamer! David and Tracey have been great to work with!!!!!! I'm counting the days!!!!
Rob, I also have one on order, a 56" Recurve 58lb as Fishone has stated David and Tracey are great to work with and just good all around people, can't wait till I get the call that its ready.
Looks like the St. Joe crew is growing haha,
In the deep South it is bad manners to say ugly things about a man's dawg, wife, sister, pickup and bow.
My knuckles don't drag the ground and St. Joe River bows suit me just fine.
My first bow kill was with a 52" Bear Kodiak Magnum. I couldn't shoot it then and likely still couldn't shot that short "%*&." I became very fond of 60" bows but as I aged they became a little less friendly length wise from a tree stand.
During the PBS Banquet in Nashville I shot several of the shorter recurves David and Tracey had with them. I ordered one on the spot and find it quite satisfactory for my needs.

You can talk ugly about that danged ugly, puny little hog, but don't say nothing about my bow. :)
I can't tell you how much I enjoyed the Kazoo Show. I so very much loved working with you guys this weekend to make sure we get everything right for you on your bows.
We met so many quality people there. Almost everyone was knowledgeable and kind and polite and a joy to talk to.
Cliff, I love you southern gentlemen. I can't wait to see you again and give you a big hug.
Wow Cliff Nice Hunting and love the little hogs they taste better anyway.
Only a month more to get my bow yay.
for the record: trad gang does not allow public bashing of anything. period. just bad manners.
