I have never had a Maddog but hear they are good. I needed a couple of kids bows a couple of years ago and got them at Black Rhino. They also make an excellent bow.

My son picked out his St. Joe River longbow this past Saturday at Kalamazoo, and he even asked if he could sleep with it that night.  To which I said "Yes", and pulled the string off.  He went to bed with a giant smile on his face that evening.

Black Rhino also makes some nice bows and they have them in all sizes and draw weights with good prices and very slick looks, I would also take a look at them

My son has an Elk Ridge pilgrim and a new Maddog Pup. Both are nice looking and shoot great.

Nicolas (age 6)says " I really think your bows(Maddog) are awesome! My Dad wants one, too.I just noticed that my Dad has been shooting too fast(his Dad is prone to snap shooting).i think he needs one too.oh and my bow shoots cool." love, nicolas

I'd call that a ringing endorsement!

I just picked up one Friday at K-zoo from St Joe River, and let me tell you these are awesome little shooters. And the trade up program he has is hard to beat.
Dave was awesome to deal with, give them a shout!!

I'd second a Maddog...

I'd also say "build it yourself."  REALLY easy to do, very cheap, very quick, and they are customizable with the kid's artwork.  If you are interested, drop me a PM and I'll do another build along (I did one a long time ago but can't find it anymore...)
