Title: Bear Kodiak Hunter tips???
Post by: 2elkhunt on January 30, 2011, 07:39:00 PM
I have a mid 70's Kodiak Hunter and I was wandering if I could have the tips built up and use FF on it.I love this bow but I can't stand how the B50 keeps creeping on it.

Has anyone ever done this?If so who would be a good person to do it.

Thanks

May try this post in Trad History and Collecting also.  I know of folks who use FF on older Bears.  I do not know the method used to do this.

I don't know if it's been done, I would imagine you'd need underlays on the back of the limb curve, as well as replacing the tips. Bowdoc up in Washington wouldbe the man to talk to. You'll find him hanging around on the Collector's forum, mostly.

Oooh, I forgot. One thing you could try is a B55 string. It still has the 'give' of Dacron, but no-where near as much stretch.
I've had 3 fitted on non FF bows & you couldn't pay me to go back to B50
