Title: My Arrows Seem to Light!
Post by: Coach Jones on January 30, 2011, 06:10:00 PM
I am shooting Gold Tip Traditionals 35/55 cut 29 inches with 50 grain inserts, an arrow wrap, 3x5 inch feathers, gt nock, and 125 grain head.  My bow is a GN Ghost 51# @28.  I only draw 26.5.  I like the way my arrows fly and my bow is dead quiet.  I have tried 145 and 175 grain tips but like the 125's the best as far as flight and accuracy.  I am concerned that I am only shooting about 455 grains.  I seem much lighter than everybody else on here.  I have been shooting traditional since September and have fallen in love with it.  At this weight, am I doing something wrong, am I okay to hunt with this arrow, or should I try a different shaft?

You'll be fine. I was having the same thought with my set up. Accuracy and flight are more important.

You're 9.8gpp or thereabouts, so you're fine on weight. The biggest keys are arrow flight and a good, sharp broadhead. You have plenty there for anything in Kansas, IMO.
