This ended being my first buck with the longbow, i've shot around 12 does but never a buck and i unknowingly shot one this time. It was about 9:30 and I had decided to get down because it was right after a very hard snow and nothing was moving so i decided to try and spot and stalk around where I know the deer like to bed. I got into the area and slowed down looking around a lot and not even 5 minutes of being in the area i noticed a doe bedded about 45 yards from me. I started moving in on her and made it to 15 yards an I waited for her to get up to get a shot, I didn't realize there was another doe right next to her who had already made me and they got up and ran before i could get a shot. Well with the snow i figured id follow them i made it about 100 yards when i was about to crest the hill when about 9 paces in front of me this button buck slowly stands up and takes two step from behind this tree , i drew picked a spot and released. I didn't see my shot but i knew i had hit him and i could see my arrow had gone clean through so i walked up to it and looked to my left and not even 20 yards away he was standing there in a foot of snow so i put one more in him for good measure he made it about 50 yards from there and this is the result, first longbow buck!http://i1129.photobucket.com/albums/m512/Giotundo/2011-01-27_12-41-03_770.jpg

I saw the photos, but they're too large since they're way beyond 640 pixels. Looks like you had a great hunt in the snow.
Ah! I see you put them in as a link to your Photobucket album.
Very nice! Congratulations. :clapper:
Congrats.
Darren
Nice deer and congratulations on your first buck. Let us know what your setup was. You did good and thanks for the pictures. Did you make your quiver?
That bow is brand new I can't remember the name of who makes it i think there a little known company so that's the first deer with that bow. It's 56# at 28 and its got some reflex deflex, all the arrows are cedars i made. And yes i made the quiver i finished that last year and i just posted the one i made for next year it's the fox one.
Nice job, congrats!
That one will taste GREAT! Way to go. Nice pics.

I walked the bloodtrail again today because i never found the arrow from my second shot. I ended up finding it a few yards from his last bed. I enjoyed reliving the hunt as well.
